Knock free at WOT even at 90+ IAT's!

Check it out: http://datazap.me/u/solidone/2enrich...2&zoom=383-705

Only change was increasing the port ratio to about 0.148 at the very top which is actually only about 5% decrease from stock values of 0.203. Very happy and very excite.

Here is one with the values set at 0.000 at the same spots. All else the same, with the IAT's about 5f lower.

So if I have this correct all you had to change in the end was the four values in the port tables at 5200 rpm load 0.9-1.2 from 0.203 to 0.148 ??

strange how it reduced knock at the lower rpms as shown in second log or were other changes made ?
thanks

Yes, that's correct.

Hmmm... good point. The only other variable was the fuel. The log with the knock was at less than half a tank of gas, while the knock free log was almost immediately after I fueled up to a full tank with Shell 91 octane at my usual gas station. As far as I remember the petrol was from the same station. I will have to keep an eye on it as I run down the tank of gas.

Edit: I looked at the logs over more carefully and it seems that maf voltages were stuck at 1.12v. It would appear that the flkc and knock correction values were also stuck at zero. It is likely that the OFT was not logging correctly at the time I took the log and that in fact it was still knocking after I made the changes to the port ratios. Sorry guys. Please disregard my earlier post about being knock free.

Should I redo my MAF scale with the new shiv tune? I transferred my scale from 1.59 to 2.01 and the car ran bad. Ran the 2.01 without changes and the car felt immensely better. Couldn't tell a difference in any of the fuel tables though.

Cam timing can have an impact on AFRs so the scaling may well be off. May be worth looking at why it runs worse though by logging and comparing. Don't forget that a change in MAF scale will impact on load calculations, so if your scale is bumped up, you'll see higher loads, which is usually richer and less advance. If that's all that is happened, you could adjust the load headers in the appropriate tables.

Afe Takeda BRZ/86 Maf Scaling

If your running an AFE intake your maf scaling will likely be out with LTFT running at over 15%

scaling attached (and to first post) should get LTFT below 5%.

these intakes seem to have some resonance or turbulence in a couple of spots

@steve99 most likely from maf location ? Here's where you can further fine tune the takeda

You can use Airboy's rev 3 over here http://www.romraider.com/forum/viewt...hp?f=32&t=5483

or @vgi OS utility (should be updated soon :-) ) http://www.romraider.com/forum/viewt...p?f=32&t=10481

Does it matter if we have more parameters in the log from a sample rate perspective? My usual tactrix logcfg has the following:
AF_Corr_3, AF_Learn_3, AFR, AFR_command, BaseTiming, CL_OL, Direct_IPW, Direct_IPW_0, ECT, FBKC, FLKC, FLKC_Offset, IAM, IAT, KCA, Load, LTFT, MAF, MAF_V, MAP, Port_IPW, RPM, Speed, STFT, Throttle, Tip_In_Enrich, TipIn, TotTiming

Or should I limit to the following for the purpose of using the java app?
AFR, AFR_command, CL_OL, IAM, IAT, Load, LTFT, MAF_V, MAP, RPM, Speed, STFT, Throttle

Also from what I'm reading in the thread, I can do 15-20mins of crusing and then a bunch of WOT runs all in the same session/log and get a good scale in one shot?

The info on injector scaling/ratios was interesting but don't quite understand it enough as yet.

Tactrix will log about 20 parameters at about 20 times a second.

you probably only need about 5 times a second for most things so you could leave all those parameters in.
