That just means you won't throw OBD-II readiness flags if you get a simple OBD-II port scan instead of a tail pipe inspection. Depending on what your local inspection entails.

The primary job of a secondary O2 sensor on a modern day car is to detect the presence of a cat. The ECU gets a reading from both the primary and secondary O2 sensors and compares their values with parameters set within the ECU by the factory. It's looking for a differential reading between the two to determine whether the cat is in place and functioning properly. It's also used to apply fuel trims too, but to a lesser degree than the primary O2.

The location of our two O2 sensors creates a natural differential that is acceptable to the ECU. We DO NOT need to disable the P0420 code. All of the factory DTC codes remain intact. This is the only way you'll be able to satisfy the cat and O2 readiness checks.

We've been able to test our header design NA and with our turbo system in place and the ECU has been happy so far with no CEL's. This design beats trying to spoof the secondary O2 sensor using spacers, restrictor tubes, goosenecks, emulators, etc. These tricks may have worked with earlier OBDII cars, but they are totally hit or miss with modern day cars.

Thanks for taking the time duing this holiday weekend to explain your method...I appreciate it. Seems like a well thought out and clever solution...as you stated earlier you put a lot of thought and effort into these headers...

I just wanted to answer a few common PM questions we've received recently regarding tuning with our header. Although in-house dyno tuning will always be the preferred method to extract every last ounce of power from your mods, we'll likely offer ETuning for customers who are not local to us and are planning on running our header with the stock airbox or possibly a few other popular air intake systems.

For those that have purchased our header and wish to get their cars tuned by their local ECUTek tuner, we'll provide our dyno tested cam timing maps to get you started. This will reduce the dyno time needed to get you dialed in. Your tuner can then focus on targeting his ideal AFR's, MBT/knock limited timing values, etc.

If we get at least half a dozen customers, who have purchased our header, expressing interest in an OFT OTS map, we'll look into possibly purchasing an OFT and creating either a base map or possibly even offer an ETuning service.

For those that are looking to use our header for an NA application for now while you wait to save up for our turbo system, this will be the go to header as we've already tested it with our GTX3076R turbo to 500+whp on E67.

I'm interested. If you'll be offering the OFT maps, would that be free of charge when we purchase the header?

I'm also interested in knowing if the OFT tune will be free with purchase of the header or an additional cost.

If we're able to develop an OTS map for the OFT that doesn't require further ETuning, then I'm sure it will be something that we can offer to our header customers for free. It will likely only be available for customers running a stock airbox. Unfortunately, we you bolt on an aftermarket intake system. The AFR's end up all over the place and would require either dyno or ETuning.

I already ordered my header and would like to add interest in the OFT map.
