I gotta ask. Have you experimented with not going down to 2nd gear? In my racing experience I have found that if you are changing up a gear at or just after track out, then it would have been better to avoid that extra gear change and just use the higher gear.

I sure did and pretty much at every corner so in some corners I shift down and lose some time (a few tenths) but I gain better exit speeds ..
as you may know, the Centrifugal type Superchargers make the most of the power up top and TQ keeps climbing so you have to keep the car in high rev range otherwise it will feel like it bogs ..

However, I am still not certain about a few corners where I shift down to 3rd like the main straightaway where the finish line is or some corners when I keep the maintenance throttle and gradually opens turns(no advantage of having more TQ) .. I think both 3rd and 4th gear yield the same overall time in those types of turns

I think I also can apply trailbraking a bit easier with the shorter gear since throttle/brake transition is a bit easier

This fills my heart with joy.

It's time to think about a trailer and a tow vehicle. It just so happens I may have my trailer for sale real soon.

When I get more time I'll watch your videos with the sounds on and see if I can offer any advice about shifting. Sometimes, it just works out there is no good option. You can shift or not-shift and may be the same speed. That's where data comes in.

Yes, there are so many factors also..I personally don't like to shift unless it's really necessary but the type of the supercharger I have kinda mandates that

When I had the Vette it was only couple shifts between 2nd-3rd-4th gear that's it

Just watched your video at ORP - that looks like a really fun, technical track! That series of on-camber sweepers is a trip!

I think I might have to make a trip down there for an HPDE next year.

Question - on your hard up-shifts, I keep hearing a wee pop. Is that a back-fire or am I hearing drivetrain abuse?

Exactly, I'm glad you liked it .. ORP is without a doubt the best track in NW region in my opinion, I would suggest you to contact with the ORP club since becoming a member has its perks , you get the most seat time with them and cheaper if you become a member

that pop is back fire as you guessed, it started doing that after the catless header

This is my favourite 'sensible' build on this forum, much how I intend mine to turn out before it inevitably gets silly.
What do you use camera / data overlay wise?
