No need. It's disabled entirely out-of-the-box with this update file. I'm not even 100% sure it's there at all, I'd have to double-check.

there's two parts to carhome. the front end, then the app drawer. what they did was disable the front end so you start in the app drawer. is that where you are or did you also change the launcher? if you change the launcher then you should see something completely different from the app drawer.

one thing I also noticed with home 2shortcut is that when on home screen and pressing home it should open app drawer(configured that way) but it doesn't.

Does anybody know about how much data this might use per month for Google Maps? I love their interface, and would be willing to get a WiFi or bluetooth hotspot router with like 1GB of data per month, it's only $15/mo from Sprint, which I would deem do-able.

That may be, but I'd rather use Google Maps versus storing a giant map database on the device, further slowing it down and reducing Music capacity. I may be paranoid, but that's something I appreciate.

Freezing car home completely(including using the car home button disabled update) requires you run radio app before going to sleep in order to wake-up properly instead of cold boot.
To work around this leave car home unfrozen and install home 2 shortcut from play store.
Assign home button to the launcher of your choice via home 2 shortcut.

Are you saying that with the firmware version with the front end disabled you don't actually have to freeze the Carhome app drawer to use home2shortcut and another homescreen like Nova?

Also, are you using their latest update they teased on their facebook with the larger partition and volume memory, or the one I posted before? I haven't heard anything else since they teased that update.

Theres an unofficial firmware release by someone here of an update that has CarHome disabled, so you don't need to freeze it via Titanium backup. They havent release the latest update on their facebook yet, it is still under testing.

Also I have notice that using Nova with Carhome unfrozen (not using the unofficial update), I notice that Home2Shortcut doesnt work as it should.

I've always been a huge Google maps fan and never used anything else until I started my new job last week and had to drive through serious traffic every day in an unfamiliar area. Google maps took me through a lot of traffic, so I gave waze a shot. I don't think I'll be using Google maps for navigation anymore. Waze is so much better! Plus, it tells you how much data it's used right in the app. Give it a shot

Correct. The app will override the rest of car home and unit will sleep properly. You also gain functionality like assigning app to double tap home.

One posted earlier with just edited partition file.

No. I don't think you'll find any 3rd party adapters that work with music playback either because companies have to license it from Apple (there's some kind of chip in there). You don't want to use it anyway, like I said, the indexing takes forever. Put your music on a USB drive or a microSD card. Much easier than trying to use your iPhone to play music through an Android head unit.

I know, I was the the one that posted the most recent one, prior to their newest update though... that's what I was asking about.
