Would like to hear your thoughts on this:
Subrau BRZ (Let's say ~$39,000) vs Nissan S15 (JDM import around ~$18,000)

Pocket the difference and save for a house!

Personally the S15 is too old for me, next car I buy is going to be my one car for the next 10+ years, so I want one thats less than 2-3 years old. I also think its boring to look at.

The other cars which interest me other than the 86 are:

2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe (like its looks, the 202kW turbo 2L is quite nice)
2012/2013 Mitsubishi Ralliart (nice 177kW, dual clutch, 4WD, value for money, my current car is Mitsubishi too)
2012 Suzuki Swift Sport (excellent handling, excellent 100kW from a N/A 1.6L, the most affordable car)

Although the 86 is still my favourite.

I was looking at the Ralliart as well, seeing it has the same engine as the EVO X with a tune and few mods it could get similar power as the EVO X - check out MRTPerformance for further details.

Though even with the mods it will never handle as well as the EVO X. Still the reviews say its a good car all round plus good warranty, capped price servicing and also you don't see as many of the them on the roads vs the GE/GH WRX.

Will have to make a decision when price comes around.

Yeah for the price (~$44k before on road costs) there's currently no better car than the Ralliart in my opinion, although the premium 86 should be around that price too.

The Evo X is amazing but out of my price range.

If 86 is more then $45k. I'm going after a 370gt... for some weird reason i suddenly fell in love with them, But that depends on the price of 86...

Oh wow. Just had a look at the 370gt price. It's much cheaper than I thought it would be. One more backup car to add to the list. =D

Haha! I'm the same, but I'm on 9gag usually. What other cars have you considered? (Not hatchbacks)

Aren't EVO X's in the 45k range? You might not get an MR for that price but surely an EVO X is around that price by now?

You wont like the Railliart as much when you find out how much a new clutch costs.

servicing for the gearbox is in the 4-500 dollar range, clutches in excess of a few grand.
