You're starting to track your car, right? Maybe a CG lock to start with, then move to a harness later? That way you don't need to install a harness bar right away.

This is exactly my dilemma, except I need a 2" drop from stock and to have better ergonomics...stock seats are not that great. Toss up between the Bride Stradia II's and Recaro Sportser CS, prefer the looks and better lowering potential of the Brides, but I know the Recaro will be comfortable and if custom make rails can have just as low... but I have a fear they may be just a little too wide (stock seats a fine width wise for me) Both run ~ $1500 per seat for the basic versions.

Bride Stradia II sports look like they were made for the FRS (but I would go with the low cushion option liked pictured, not the normal LowMax cushion...)

Looks like the STi Recaros retain the airbag in the seat... I know it's not that important to some, but it would probably explain the price.

Where are you buying those STI seats from? Are they just bolt in no modifications? How do they sit in height compared to stock?

My helmet has like 0 mm of clearance with the stock seat so if I got another seat it could not gain even 1 mm of height.

Yea I have been looking into that, how effective are those lockers? I always have to tighten my belt on the straights don't know why.

They keep the lap belt portion from slipping when you move. So basically, you sit down, squirm as far into the seat as you can, pull the belt down tight, and lock it in place. Like you're just wearing the two lap belts of a four part harness. This keeps you from sliding around in your seat, feels more connected to the car, etc... Plus they're removable and say they don't damage the belt. What they don't do is lock your shoulder strap in place, so your upper torso can still lean forward, left, or right like normal.

While this isn't ideal, it's still more secure overall than just the seatbelt and gives you a better feel for what the car is doing. I would not use one for normal driving, as it would not give way in an accident like the seatbelt would. If you're only just starting to track and you've not designated this car as a track-only vehicle, it's a nice step up during your progression.

The stock BRZ Ts GT package Recaros do have the airbag. you can also buy them directly from Recro (w/o Sti logo) with an airbag and seat heater. Not sure on cost of any of these though. Probably an arm, maybe and arm and leg. They look great and I'd get them in a heartbeat if it weren't for shipping costs and availability.

As for the CG Lock... if you don't sit with the seat slid ALL THE WAY to the rear, then you don't need the CG lock.
-Slide seat all the way to the rear
-Strap in and lock seat belt
-Slide seat forward to tension the seat belt (preventing unlock)
-Go do your AutoX / laps around the track
-When finished, slide seat back to unlock and release.

Recaro all the way. Functional

which model are the recaros in the tS?

They look like the CS... but CS does not have sidebolster airbags or heating.

Recaro sportster CS I believe... The oem price, if I remember correctly, was almost 2k each, and had airbags. Not sure if it had seat heaters though.

I remember seeing that they do have both heating and airbags optional . I'm curious if that would eliminate the airbag light on the gauge cluster

If you have the one with the airbag, then it should, since it would be plugged in. The oem recaros have an airbag.

I don't get that option; I'm pretty much shoehorned in from the start.

If i could find them. I'd totally buy them. I can find them with the heated option, but not heat and airbags.
