"TRD" Bucket Seats Vs "STI" Bucket Seats

Sorry if this has been discussed before but I'd love to see those of you who have tested both and/or one of them to compare and contrast. the Bride Gias II Stradia II (TRD) Bucket seats and the Recaro Sportster CS Bucket Seats (STI) .

Here's pictures for Reference

TRD Bride Gias II Stradia II

STI Recaro Sportster CS

Both are available without the branding which would lower the cost. Which would you choose and why?(besides the STI/TRD branding)

Both sexy af

I would choose the TRD seats, just because I like the red pin striping, and it looks more racecar-y to me.

But, as a DD, it looks like the STI would be better because they look adjustable, whereas the TRD aren't.

I'd go Recaro all day. Those things are just flawless.

There's a reason those seats are available in some of the higher end German cars.

I sat in a R3 Rx8 that had these...They were perfect.

Recaro is pretty damn good....this begs the question - what do you want the seats for? Do they need to be "high end german racing seats FOR MAXIMUM DRIVER RETENTION WHILE GOING 13837407 MPH AROUND A TURN, and looks ok, or do you need it for DD and want it to look awesome as fuck, and be slightly less functional.

We can't make a determination without knowing what you need it for

STi looks OEM and full function. Red accents are so meh IMO. The red stitching in my BRZ is even more than I would want

I would like the Recaros, but with red stitching to look more like an OEM performance option. The giant red line on the Brides is not attractive.

I need these seats purely because it's cool. I don't need the super awesome holding capabilities that either seat provides, and honestly the OEM seats do pretty well already.

Truth^

So now my question is are you going for stealth build? If so - Recaro. If not - TRD

Great feedback! For me personally I haven't decided what application I will need the seats for yet. I just wanted to see different opinions on the two seats. I'm leaning towards the Recaros simply because of the aesthetics. However being that I am not a bigger framed guy im worried I wouldn't feel snug in the seat.

Currently my FRS is my weekend warrior so occasional spirited driving. So being planted at 2165471 mph may not be necessary but id also like to feel planted if im doing any mountain runs

OEM seats are OK, I think a harness might have more benefit over a seat. I find myself bracing with the dead pedal pushing back in the seat and pulling the seat belt tight before hard braking zones.

If you like the recaros, go for it. They are great seats, extremely well made, and don't look half bad.

I am a bigger frame guy, so my opinions on the comfort, fitment, ect, will not apply, but I will say that both are reputable seats and should hold you at least as well as OEM seats/your lover's passionate embrace. Like I said earlier, I prefer the "more OEM" red pinstriping. The giant red stripe isn't that attractive (unless you have racing stripes and want to continue the theme), but it isn't horribly unattractive, to me.
