I can't wait. Too bad I won't be able to see it live since I am going to be in at work. But I hope we see everything that was mentioned in the jalopnik article yesterday

This will likely be my replacement for my BRZ in a few years unless they disappoint me. Otherwise its a used Boxster for me.

The videoclip of my favorite Duran Duran's song features scantly clad women, cars and b00bies. NSFW:

Is it sad that the fact that the new Miata was coming out today was my first thought this morning? Like a kid waking up on Christmas

The latest renders, which are quite close to the mark according to those in the know, are looking very very good. Gone is the old man's fuddy-fuddy Brit roadster look. The new PRHT should be far better integrated into the design, and there are rumours of a true coupe coming.

Personally given the climate here I am not much of a ragtop fan, but if the new PRHT offers better soundproofing than the old one I might be interested. Advantages I see over the twins:

- even lighter and more agile - in fact if the scuttlebut is true it could be 500 lbs lighter
- better sounding engine (a guess at this stage but it could scarcely be worse or more crude than the twins')
- more pleasant and upscale interior
- better build quality and reliability
- possibly more attractive design
- better manual transmission (based on past Miatas)

Of course it would be far less practical, but I can live with that. Hopefully they get the power to weight ratio right, at least matching the twins'.

I went from a NC to a BRZ... I wonder if I'll be headed to a ND some day.

An exciting all new Miata, plus winter around the corner = better deals on used S2000s?
