Ideas of making FR-S with BRZ model features
I've had my mind set on a BRZ Limited but I would really like the FR-S with more interior options like nav , premium sound, possible leather or leather/alcantara seats?
The only reason I'm going BRZ over FR-S is I like these options. Has anyone investigated or priced these options. Will Scion make these options available for an extra charge? |

Scion says no. We will never see Leather/alcantara seats and HIDS, and dual Zone AC. All we will ever get is push start in the Release Series FR-S next year. You don't need nav if you opt for the Bespoke. The Bespoke is probably better than the Nav system in the BRZ, because it will always be up to date because of your cell phone. The leather Alcantara seats coupe be just seat covers, so price them at the subaru dealer parts department. |

Move to Europe and get a Toyota GT86.
And get ready to choke on that price quote!

Can't have it all you gotta make some sacrifices. What do you like from each car that out weighs the other? If you only like how the Fr-S look's its pretty much identical except for the front. If you really want all the extras shoot for the BRZ. I like the auto climate, push start, and leather/alcantara seats but not willing to pay 30+ out the door for a limited so im getting a premium.

Isn't the stereo in the FRS better in terms of watts than the BRZ?
FRS is 300 watts: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5280 BRZ is like 190ish: Premium trim: 6.1 in Display AM/FM/CD/MP3/WMA/DVD/DivX audio stereo 196-watt If you're talking touch-screen-fanciness, then yeah BRZ one-ups the FRS in that department, but the audio in the FRS will sound better in the stock setup. I'm still trying to decide what I'm going to do. |

Fairly easy to get leather seats and good nav radio
It's quite straight forward to get good leather seats installed in the FR-S. I plan on doing that once the regular seats start showing a bit of age. And while I'm at it, I'll probably get seat heaters added at the same time as it is fairly trivial and it will make my wife happy. I did both in a Miata I owned (I did the work myself but a good upholstery shop will do it if you don't want to). And I must say... it actually looked factory. Very soon Katzkin.com or other online leather seat cover companies will have ones for the FR-S in stock for reasonable fee. Take a look at what they have for the tC.
As for the radio, this is standard double din so there are a large number of models out there to choose from. Pick a Pioneer if you don't want to worry about wiring (although Crutchfield and the like will include a wiring harness free of charge). Or go to CarToys and they will install it for you for not too much. As for the auto climate control : I see the FR-S as being much better than having complicated climate control. I'm constantly fighting my current Toyota to "just leave the damn settings alone" rather than it trying to adjust everything. I like three manual dials where I get to set exactly what I want. |

Dude that's sick. I wonder how nav works. The reason I want a car with nav is because I hate when people call my android while Im using nav.
I love my android. I just speak where I want to go and it goes ![]() Quote:

I may have just leaned towards the FR-S.
I'll add the best nav/multimedia unit that is best for my needs. And I'll save money allowing me to go with different (possibly leather) seats with heating pads if after a year I want to change them. Plus the difference in price will allow me to get some sweet rims and use the stock ones for winter tires. Thanks for the info! |

My only question is why have photos sync to it? I'd NEVER use that feature. My buddy has a GTI with the first model in it. He only uses the photos to show off. :P |

If you want all the BRZ Limited options, why don't you just swap a FR-S front bumper on a BRZ and call it a day.
