I own basically that exact car. I've got those wheels in my Garage right now..Damn nice looking for stock..but a little heavy for a 17".
Also, with an 8" width and a 53 offset, They might need spacers to clear the BRZ suspension

Since WRX STI comes with a front under spoiler as a default, some want to put this to protect its under spoiler, to get more aerodynamics, or just to make it like "low-riders". Something like this

I don't have a pic of BRZ/FR-S hub handy, but if it's the usual Subaru ~8mm hubcentric tapered thing - decent 5mm spacer needed to bring those to factory offset does not exist. And you're gonna have to swap studs to go with 5mm spacer.

I was told 5mm spacers and studs would likely be required of my BBS wheels as well; +53 offset on a 7.5" wheel. If this is the case, I'll be selling my sets on NASIOC, keeping the stockers, and buying something classy to replace them. I simply do NOT want to fuck with studs.

Don't worry. Next year's BRZ will have 5*114.3 and a better engine! /sarcasm

I was under the impression it's 11mm less inboard clearance.
To be fair I used the 1010tires calculator with these values: stock 7" +48 vs new 7.5" +53. EDIT: I think someone's using 7.5 +48 as stock values, which is not true. The stock wheel is 7" wide. 17x7J. |

From looking at drivetrain pics, it would seem that there's more than 11mm clearance stock (maybe about 20-25mm) between the tire and the strut. Gonna have to find some #s on tire deformation.

THAT might be tough..if i get a BRZ the WRX is my trade in...Tell me i'm wrong, but I think dealers frown on Trade-ins on cement blocks..
![]() I have some Cheap ass Rota SVN 18x8.5 +48 that i'll keep to test fit on a brz, and go from there. Quote:

I was going to pick up a set of McGard locking nuts anyway; we'll just have to wait until the cars are here. Regardless, I won't be futzing around with studs.
New FT86Club thing to bitch about: Subaru not including open ended tuner lugs and extended studs. |
