Toyota FR Sports book released in Japan, new screenshots!

Not sure if these have been posted or not. Just ordered this book (2 more for sale on ebay!)

Some screenshots. Looks similar to the staff manual but with interviews with the drift king, etc.

I know the pics are tiny, but that's all I can dig up so far. I can post better ones when my copy arrives.

I'm really interested to see what that Toyota Accessories/TRD page says?

I find it funny how they never include the FR-S concept in their concept summaries, like they are either ashamed of it or they are embarrassed to show it next to the final version.

I just noticed the Gazoo Racing version has a nice thick 3 point strut tower bar. I wonder what other chassis tricks they have done...

EDIT: I just dug through Gazoo's website using google translator and found this pic

This isn't a 3 point bar, its an extension of the roll cage. That must be a flat out race car. Notice there isn't any motor mods though. It probably shows that they are focusing on maximum chassis weight reduction instead.

My paint version showing the cage.

Also notice the adjustable top hats

You're correct- that's the front bars of the cage coming forward joining the strut towers. They've then triangulated it with the cross-tower brace which is also welded. Fairly standard practice for competition cars, depending on the class it might also be stipulated in the regs.

Unrelated, but I love the placement of the oil filter- so easy for a home mechanic to get to!

Are they going to sell the any race version? If yes I would then skip the GT86/BRZ road car and at once get the race car.

First time I've noticed that, thanks for pointing it out. It's always the little things like this that add up to make a car special.
