Yeah itll just launch you straight into a torque dip. It wont do a whole lot of pulling.

I autocross mine frequently. Just remove you foot from the brake and stomp on the gas. No wheel spin and no bogging. You won't get much out of trying to get past the 2K RPM rev limiter with brake torquing. I've watched the manuals launch and there's not much to worry about there. They don't exactly rocket out of the box. For the most part, you'll finish behind better drivers, and in front of lesser drivers. Downshift to first on tight, slow sections. Impractical for manuals and a unique advantage when the opportunity arises.

Even if we remove the electronic brake assist from the picture, you'll be hitting the torque converter's stall speed. Explanation of torque converter stall speed:

"Footbrake stall is the maximum amount of engine RPM that can be achieved in a forward operating range with the brakes fully applied to prevent the vehicle from moving forward"

http://hughesperformance.com/index.p...=1:latest-news

With that being said, if you really, really wanted to launch hard in an auto, you're gonna need to increase your stall speed with a new torque converter, something like what these guys are selling:

And here's an old post on what to upgrade on an AT and why:

have fun salivating over the upgrade options. I know I did.
