Since the lawsuits of unintended acceleration, pretty sure that Toyota implemented programming that causes the brake to override the gas at about the point you are describing.

I was just kidding by the way. If you take my advice your transmission is good as dead.

Planning on autocrossing and would like to know too. I tried to brake with left foot, gas right to 2k rpms and launched the tires chirped a little. I'm guessing this is optimum where the tires are at gripping limit? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Mmm have you tried doing it with traction control off?

Snowblind 08-28-2014 02:45 AM

Lol automatic owners.

Oh shoot. Silly me. I was in the apt parking lot and was just messing around. I love my automatic in la traffic. <3

SnowBlind is right!

I was going to say that automatic FR-S should have launch control, but then I thought to myself, is that really what this car is all about. It would be nice though.

All you do is put it in neutral and rev it like BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM then select D for maximum respect!

Oh you went and ruined a perfectly good 100+ page thread of flaming!
I can already picture it!
No you can't (followed by 200 words of technical info)
Yes you can (followed by 500 words of counter technical info)
No you can't (written by some "old" guy)
Yes you can (written by some "young" guys calling the other guy old and saying they don't get modern technology)
And on
And on
And on.....
And somewhere in there the OP would disappear never to heard from again.
