Sorry, was at Gillman South and purchased the car already by the time I saw this. $28,400+TTL was the price I got. |

Does anyone know if shifting while putting a little bit of gas is bad?
On the video he talks about how BMWs you would have to do that, I'm just wondering if you have to do that on the BRZ. From what I notice when I go 100% clutch and 0% gas I have to release the clutch slowly to prevent the jerking. When I shift with a little bit a gas, it's basically like it's supposed to be in an automatic - perfect fluid motion. I've been driving a manual transmission for about 5 years. I was also told that rev matching is required on boxer engines, does anyone know for sure? Thanks in advance |

You need to rev match when changing up as well as changing down for the smoothest shifts. Rev matching while upshifting is much easier since the higher gear requires a slower engine rpm so most times you will shift quickly enough that just getting back on the gas normally will be enough. If you shift at redline and full throttle though you will find you need to get back on the gas asap to avoid that lurch as the clutch engages. This gearbox has fairly close and well spaced ratios for spirited driving, fuel economy suffers accordingly. Smooth shifting in this car is tricky because the clutch pedal effort is very light and without much pedal feel. Even after a year I occasionally muff even an upshift, very annoying. |

I think the black ground effects kit suits the black wheels very well. Painting it body colour may make the sideview of the car look a tad fat, ??
The dark multi spoke wheels suit this car very well, combining a classic motorsports look with the very modern and clean look echoing the body shape. This looks quite like the Toyota GT 86 TRD body trim kit released in the UK last year. I saw one of those and it looks very good, even at stock ride height. |

Thanks for the reply Ubersuber,
Yeah I used to drive an 06 RSX Type S and the shifting there IMO is much easier, on the BRZ while I'm getting better when it comes to smooth shifting, it's still harder. I only apply a little bit of gas, I just want that smooth transition when I shift or even downshift. I'm doing the whole rev matching now, which I basically just "jab" the gas and downshift right away and get the clutch down easily to prevent the jerking. I love driving stick because it's a challenge but better yet it's like an art that I'm trying to master. Yeah the clutch is light, and it's hard to find that perfect spot. Right now my next project for my car is good 'ol tints. To bad in Chicago 35% is the best I can do -_- |

Hey again guys!
How do I save FM stations on my radio? I can't seem to find the answer on the manual, but I did find the document online - http://www.joomag.com/magazine/subar...24152?page=204 Still doesn't help me because I can't find the favorites menu, and when I hold preset I get a beep which I think does it but I don't know. Can I do this on my XM stations also? Where is the favorite menu on the XM and FM station, it's honestly hard for me to navigate the radio Can anyone please explain? Thanks in advance! |
