What makes Hella Supertones so special?
Yes I know they are louder, but what makes them so special compared to other possible options. They are 118db, and RSD has them for $64. I wasn't looking, but saw a suggested link on eBay for some 105db at $15.
I not trying to stir an ants nest or anything, as I really don't give a flying... but I am very curious as to why Hella is the only horn aftermarket I ever hear about.

Only reputable one people know about is my guess. I have only heard of Hella Supertones for horns.

Try Stebel, they're a good brand too. Get some air horns for your car!!
Also, 105 v. 118 is a rather large difference.

Decibels are exponential, so there is a large difference between 105 and 118.
To give an idea: A vacuum cleaner is ~70dB. A garbage disposal is ~80dB. It is 2 times as loud as 70dB. A motorcycle 25ft away is ~90dB. It is 4 times as loud as 70dB. A jet takeoff at 1000ft away is ~100dB. It is 8 times as loud as 70dB. A live rock concert is 110dB. This is the average human pain threshold. It is 16 times as loud as 70dB. Hella Supertones clock in at just under 120dB. They are ~32 times louder than 70dB. So, there is some context for you.

i never knew the decibel "rating" increments were calculated exponentially. thanks to those that posted those references up.
so related to the original question, what other horns have others installed and been satisfied with the loudness/volume of it? i need to change this shitty horn that sounds like those toddler squeeky shoes.
