No guaranties there either as some expensive car drivers can be royal D-bags! Parked between a new Benz convertible and a pristine Pontiac Solstice at Best Buy the other day and figured I was as safe as could possibly be. Came out to find the Benz driver leaning against my car with his bag of stuff sitting on my hood and talking to some skanky looking girl (pretty sure she was hooking). Told him to GTFO and he grabbed his stuff and got into his car. Checked the car and all was OK. As he drove away he yelled back at me "if you can't afford to fix a few dents and scratches you should not buy an expensive car". Almost threw my new modem at him!

Some jackass put a nice huge scrape on my passenger side mirror a few weeks ago. Right on the white paint, and inch above the black plastic which would have made the scratch invisible. I feel your pain.

Thats someone who deserve to have their car dented. But in general you're probably safer than next to "cheap everyday" cars.

I parked next to a Ferrari at the gym yesterday. I felt safe about my car, but I had to be extra careful not to accidentally ding his car. lol

Whenever possible, I park next to a curb so that I'm only exposed to one side at all times. Also, if you park next to the curb as close as possible, it gives the other car a full door's length to open his/her door. If you get a scratch or a ding, you'll know it was with evil intent.

I thought so too, until one day I parked next to a BMW and came back and the BMW was gone, nobody new was in the spot and there was a dent in the door right where he was that didn't scratch or chip any paint, and didn't have a crease or hard edge, just a smooth indent, so I'm thinking the asshole punched or kicked my door....
