Another Hit & Run Victim

Ran a few errands with the car yesterday morning, came home, later decided to detail the car, noticed someone was nice enough to hit my car in a parking lot and bugger off. A least the damage is minor, still pissed off over it. Wife is not impressed and is attempting to touch it up with a paint stick.

Had the same thing happen at work with a pretty nasty door ding. I ended up doing this to cover it up and prevent future ones.

If it's more serious than a door ding, consider paintless dent removal, PDR.

yeah it runs rampant everywhere... its a damn shame, nobody cares about their car anymore. 95% of people see cars as a mode of transportation only and dont really give a damn about dings and such...

I'm sorry to hear this. But trust me, it's nothing new. The first 'new' car I ever purchased was a 1991 Golf GTi (more than 20 years ago now). Within just a few months, I had a massive ding on the driver's side door, another, slightly smaller but still large ding on the passenger side from somebody who let their door fly open in a parking lot, and a big ding on the hood from the world's largest acorn that just happen to fall and hit the car as I was driving underneath a tree. Talk about cursed. Not to mention several obvious stone chips. It was the biggest, most expensive thing I had ever purchased at that point in my life and it made me so angry that it was starting to look like a beat on city car after just a few months. I didn't bother to fix them but about two years later, when I had a bit more cash I had all three of them taken care of. And predictably, I was gifted with another door ding within a few months.

It's a losing battle. And I was somebody who always made an effort to park far away.

Damn I feel for you. Had a guy hit me on the driver's side front fender. Luckily my dashcam got it and nailed his ass

you don't always have to park far away, just park next to another luxury vehicle like the benz or a bmw. Those guys care about their car a lot since it is twice the value of a twin.

Sorry to hear man. It happens though, people are kind of shitty. My MR2 was hit while parked and it took out the bumper, a quarter panel, and a light, and no note was left or anything like that.

Sorry to hear it. I'm so paranoid about this happening to me. I always park away from other cars. I don't mind walking a bit further to get to the store I need. I like to park off by myself, at least a spot or two away from anyone else. I know this can have its own problems, but it makes me feel a bit better. I get all nervous when I'm walking back to the car and there's someone parked next to me.

Ah, the fun of owning a new car. :)

I always park next to expensive cars if I can for that very reason.

The "repair" turn out ok, we've decided we can live with the look of it. Just pisses you off that people don't give a rat's ass about others today.

I think "hit and run" is one of the most cowardly acts known to man. Good luck to the OP and others...this is becoming a weekly sporting event.

OR ...... pick out a junk vehicle and park next to it ..... that way you can park a "safe" distance away ...... AND .... when you return, you won't be surprised to see a junker parked next to you.......
