Also 7thgear knows what's up. Avoid carbs or you may hit a sugar crash/food coma at a very inopportune time, like working course for A Mod or during your runs. I personally bring Muscle Milk and mixed nuts, and sometimes I'll carb-load at dinner the night before.

Considering this year's theme you should bring a swimsuit or something you don't mind getting wet in.

Don't forget beer. Lots of beer. There is a craft beer event happening one of the nights where you'll get to try everyone else's favorite craft beer from their corner of the country, admission price is some of your local craft beer.

Hey, don't tell me, I hate writing checks, but you never know when you are going to have that once instance they don't take cards, like buying a rulebook or stickers. The SCCA and a lot of its attendees are not necessarily up to date on everything.

keep the batch of tuna premixed in one container and the toasted bread in another, if cooled properly can last you whole weekend. Eat a small amount every hour or so during the day.

I probably consume 2000-2400 calories during an autocross day, this is not counting a steak+eggs breakfast and whatever is for dinner.

and I'm only 160lb!

nothing feels better than ending a raceday and not feeling like someone ran you over with a truck, especially if it's a 2-day event.
Definitely will add carbs. I was going to leave off cooler stuff because I know there are people like me that don't really have a way to keep a cooler cold for a couple of long drives and 3 days in the sun.

They were free at the National Tours. The mandatory SCCA stickers, National Tour stickers, and "Tire Rack" banner for the windshield. I'm hoping they're free at Nationals as part of our $170 entry fee :-\

- 2014 Solo Rulebook hard copy (do they still have this stupid rule?)
I'm about 99% sure a copy of it on your phone/tablet/etc is fine

- Change of shoes and socks (for rain)
A) we DO NOT say the R word before events :p
B) even without that, a change of socks is a welcome thing.

Furthermore, I've been told to wear shoes that you aren't too attached to and can throw away at the end of the week because they'll be coated in OPR and you'll basically have Nike/Reebok/Puma/Adidas branded Hoosier A6s on your feet. Always wear the sacrificial lambs on course walks even if you stroll around paddock in something more comfy.

reportedly nobody has suffered permanent blindness but i refuse to take any chances...
FSP crashed their parade lap last year, and one of the competitors cars broke on said parade lap. FSPL runs with CP in the last group this year, so hopefully we can convince our co-driver to follow their parade around this year

They used to make you have a hard copy of the rulebook with you when you registered and when were in impound. So it was another $20 you had to spend every year or just borrow one from a friend. They would literally tell you that the one online was "not official". It was very frustrating. But, it sounds like they finally got rid of that rule.

Booked my hotel room for nationals this morning.

Will be trailering the car there as Austin and I can't fit in brz full of tires, tool, and everything else. That and 15 hours in a race seat would be killer!

West course looks like a ton of fun

East course looks like it was designed for Corvettes and their 70+mph 2nd gear rev limiter. It'll suck with the FRS/BRZ limiter :-\ I think we can get 64mph out of 2nd in the Rabbit. Hopefully it's not quite as FLATOUT as it looks on the map.

That's pretty ridiculous...i saw that map and that course looks quite "empty", luckily the other map looks more technical.

it may look "empty" but you will be required to place your car correctly in order
to get a fast time.

throwing a bunch of cones on a course does not make it "technical".

It's not that it looks empty... it's that a friend measured it based on the scale with grid and everything else, and that's nearly a 550ft straight. We'll have to go to 3rd in a car, which is kinda annoying but not the end of the world. He doesn't think they make a high enough gear for that course to keep from over-revving his engine in top gear and risking blowing up a motor. I pray it's not as fast as it looks on paper.
