Yes, they are metal. To remove the old badges first I made sure it was a nice 100 degree day in Dallas and parked my car in full sun. I tired the fishing line way of removing them first and that did not do much. Then I used a credit card and they came right off as I worked my way around them. The back badge came off easy with all the adhesive on the badge. The front badge was a bitch. It came off but left all the adhesive on the car so I had a scion logo in adhesive. I had to get goo gone to get the adhesive off in the front. I did not scratch my car or damage any paint. I have photos of the area without badges and of it with the Scion logo in adhesive. It was simple overall. Took me no more than 5 minutes to get each one off. I very happy with the change.

Picked this up on the freeway today.
![]() Went to my Toyota Dealer for touch up paint, it's going to take 3-4 weeks for J8A touch up paint to come. Apparently it only costs 13.42 for the silver ignition color.

Half way through break in 2 days later. Fit my camping gear for camping last night and the kid's stuff for her weekend at the grandparents'. The TRD exhaust seems to put her to sleep. I might need to bring some ear plugs next time. Sent from Tandy 400 |

I debugged the front of my car this morning. Used a yellow netted sponge from Walmart as well as Meguiar's Quick Detailer. First I high pressure rinsed the nose off, and then I used the sponge and detailer spray. Finally, I took it through the touchless wash. Unfortunately during the debugging I did find a few rock chips, and evidence of a curb scrape that must've been there from the dealer (hard to see from above, on the bottom of the driver's side strake). Guess some 37J touch up paint is in my future.
I also Rain-X'd both mine and my girlfriend's car. Mine was a renewal and her's was for the first time.

^^ Haha me too!
Was the first time I've ever tried auto x. I think I must've walked the course 8 times. Started off with a 53.817 after 5 runs and a dnf (missed the turn and decided to scrap the run) got it down to a 46.240. Its crazy how much you learn about the car in a few short laps.

Finished installing the TRD springs today. I had installed some 20 & 25mm spacers a week or so ago in anticipation of combating the sunken wheel look.
Started on Saturday morning and got the fronts done without issue. Went to the rears and had a hell of a time. Spent several hours on the passenger side wrestling with it, taking things loose, adjusting, tightening, etc. until I got it in, was just too exhausted to do the driver's side. Started on it today and realized I had the E-brake pulled, which was holding/binding everything. Once it was released, went in without issue. Last edited by Luke; 08-25-2014 at 01:57 PM. |
