That gives me roughly a 10 mile buffer before running out. Or you can skip all that and just put a small jerry can full of gas in your trunk.

Has anyone ever run out of gas in their 86? I'm worried I might damage something. Otherwise carrying a can of gas would be the way to go.

It's been my understanding that you should not run the tank too low as the fuel pump needs to be submerged in order to be properly cooled.

With that said, I'm always amazed how low my wife will run her tank...and we've never had to replace a fuel pump in the six or so cars she has owned.

Theory vs. reality.

5.08 psi at 4300 rpm... Don't mind if I do

4.94psi at 4900

4.35psi at 5900

3.20psi at 7000

For my altitude and exhaust components these are amazing numbers. I found that my boost dropped a bit when I installed the header and track pipe just because it had a lot better flow.

I gotta think I'm getting close to the stock clutch limits

I dont even want to think what it will be. I think it will be too much for the clutch though....well right at the limit anyways.

considering you guys are making 225hp on e85 with only 1.6psi im thinking it will be at least 245 with 3psi.

WOW

I think I better put my name on the list NOW. And all you need is a new controller, motor, compressor, batteries and cables? Oh, and aux charger.

I think it may be time you re-challenged that 135i from the early vids

Requires a new controller which comes with the bigger cables. Requires 1.5dump conversion and aux charger.

Also swaps out compressor for larger unit which comes with larger motor attached.

Once i get tuned i will definitely take a stab at it. Still think the 135i will be faster on the top end.

The focus ST should be easily beat now though.

Would the larger compressor result in quicker depletion times? I know the AUX charger would restore it quickly but I feel like at these levels it would deplete after a few WOT pulls.

Its going to deplete faster yes. The unit that im using now is about 6000watts, almost twice what the orginal 250 was doing with the single dump.

Single dump was rated at 1:30 of boost. I would guess this to be at about 45 seconds. You can still never use this much on any street and this is not recommended for track.

The Aux charger makes it virtually impossible to deplete on the street....If you are going to line up on a deserted highway and do 0-130mph pulls ya it is going to run out after a couple.

Ive done a couple test runs starting in 2nd and going to the top of 4th and there was no drop of in boost, this was enough to take me from 30mph to over 100mph.

I should also mention that i have NEVER once hit thermal on this unit, mind you i get going so fast i dont have to push it nearly as much.

My altitude here actually helps me a bit because the unit isnt taxed as much with the thinner air. I know when shiv had the TQ300, old controller, compressor and dual dump his was shutting down after one or two dyno pulls. Basically the dual dump was causing the compressor to draw to much current and he had the smaller controller which couldnt handle as much.

I think @DAEMANO and I need a test unit. Hell at this moment Im ok with sharing it with him just so I can play with it. Also I am willing to sacrifice my clutch to beat @nlowell 's setup just to prove a point.
