I hope ptuning will reconsider the no uel header because I'd like to have a full ptuning exhaust but I love the sound of uel headers.

Just throwing this out there...But you guys could "borrow" my car for two weeks in September if you wanted to...I have two back to back travels out to the West Coast. Starting the 1st and winding up the 12th. If you needed another NA car to do development work with...

Just some additional info I wanted to point out regarding the gains. I remember that Cosworth released an intake manifold setup that had great gains. I'm just thinking the PTuning combo Header/Exhaust/Tune + the Cosworth intake manifold plenum would make one helluva screamer!

And as a side note this is from Cosworth's site for their Stage 1 Power package:

Quote:

Stage 1.1 provides a direct replacement cat-back exhaust, air filter, thermostat and custom Cosworth ECU calibration to lift the stock peak power output by 23hp.

Stage 1.2 adds a tuned mid pipe exhaust with integrated Helmholtz resonator to deliver an additional 5hp and a much improved exhaust note.

Stages 1.3 completes the Power Package by including a lightweight, thermal barrier coated intake manifold that maximises airflow to deliver the full performance uplift of 40hp at 4,100 rpm and peak performance of 230hp.

40hp gain is what a 25% power increase as someone pointed out? So, a 23hp increase just on the manifold mod, filter and cat-back alone. Then added a mid-pipe only exhaust and then tuned it for a total of 40hp.

So, it seems when you actually get someone who knows what they are doing (Toan from PTuning), you can squeeze the FA20 even in N/A form.

Don't worry, before long there will be some decent n/a power builds. Hopefully these engines can get somewhere near what a Honda engine can do all motor and we'll start seeing 230-250 whp setups or something

I will be pulling the trigger on this shortly. I would like to be the first in Australia to run this. It certainly looks the goods. What are your thoughts on wrapping?

I will be looking to run a 2.5 inch system but want single exit. Think I will wait to see/hear some video/sound clips of what others sound like.

If your existing overpipe doesn't have a cat, then be prepared for it to be twice as loud. You have the resonated catback so it probably won't have terrible rasp like it would with no resonators, but it's going to be loud.

This header in my opinion would be best mated to a catted resonated front pipe for those concerned with noise. Anxious to see the final results and power gains.

We'll get the dyno video up tomorrow for sure. We've all just been super busy with daily operations this past week. I've been tuning non-stop too.

We will not have any street videos up until we start tuning the first production headers.

If its a dedicated race car or a car that won't be driven in the rain often, then wrapping the header would be okay. Otherwise header wrap will retain moisture and make a mess of things long term.

That set-up would definitely be quieter than a straight 3" exhaust, but will still be louder than stock due to the lack of a cat. The header if off of the car right now, but we can give you a ride in the NA car when the production headers are completed.

If there is enough interest, we'll likely offer a custom NA specific overpipe/frontpipe combo.

Do you think it'll be best them to leave them as is, the heat wouldn't be too much of an issue?
