Try watching these two video to enable the gear indicator. They also go over the Rev indicator as well.

Just in case you were wondering. Since the BRZ doesn't have any all season mats, I decided to order the FRS ones from TRD Sparks after reading the post on them.

Here are some pictures next to the factory mats.

I was looking at those but they are a little more expensive and they don't come with rear mats.

Got my rearview camera kit today so I know what I'm doing this weekend.
Hoping I can tap into the HU and use Pin 7 and 15 for the power and ground for the camera.

Pin Label Description
6 PKB Parking brake input
7 CA+ +6V supply (output to camera)
8 V+ Camera Video Signal Input (+)
15 CGND HU grounds this internally
16 V– Camera Video ground/shield

I also (just today) ordered the Weathertech custom floor liners like Majik did, after poking around the 'net and not seeing anything else that would clearly accommodate the 'lock-down' tabs in our BRZs. You probably already saw this, but at the Weathertech website, you can specify year/make/model...they did not have 'mats' but did have the 'liners', which are a little more 'extensive/molded', and those WERE specific to "2015/Subaru/BRZ". I wasn't concerned about the lack of rear mats as I am not likely of having backseat riders that will be ok with the 1" of legroom I'd give them. Let me know how you like the mats you went with, and if my 'anality' over the tab accommodation was silly. I was just fearful of laying a mat over the top of them and then finding out after switching back to the carpet mats that they broke.

The FRS all season mats do have the lockdown tabs similar to the factory BRZ mats. It's silly to think anyone can sit behind the driver's seat but I do have my kid sit behind the passenger and that is why I wanted something back there.

The FRS mats fit fine in the BRZ so I'm putting the factory ones in storage. They also don't hide the driver's footrest pedal like the Weathertech does.

It's one of those mysteries why they have all season mats for the FRS and no Cargo Tray but the BRZ has the Cargo Tray but no mats.

They are completely worth it as it will be the last mat you will ever buy for the BRZ. As for the rears....who sits back there anyways haha

So almost everything is a clear improvement from the other trims EXCEPT the friggin' big "BRZ" letters on the seats....

It looks so tacky and lame... Anybody else think the same? I would've preferred it just blank.

What options do we have to remove/hide that?

Just unstitch it. It wouldn't be hard to do. I have a feeling the material may have stretched a bit under the embroidery though. Other than that, professional work or you're gonna have to be good with an industrial sewing machine.

Haha one of my friends actually had an idea of just using a black Sharpie pen and color it over...

Sounds ghetto, but might look better than those letters on it like that.

I hadn't even thought of that but having done something similar, not in a car, it could work well. Just be aware that the color may come off on your clothes, particularly when wet. Sharpie does make a "laundry marking" pen that may be a good option. We used them in basic and that color definitely doesn't come out.

To be honest, even if it was still visible but not in white, like a darker color, it would be fine.

Like gray, for instance.

Hmmmm.. anyone else got ideas? I'm sure it's an eyesore for some too.
