IRL Sonoma race?

Anyone else going? I'm heading over from Florida on Friday night, drinking in San Fran, then Sonoma Sat/Sun.

Cool. I haven't been to this track (or any in Cali) yet so it should be fun. We'll be hanging in the pits around Realtime/HPD probably.

Dave, if you come to Northern California and don't drive one of the three tracks, you're a damn fool! You've got Laguna Seca, Sonoma, and Thunderhill within reasonable distance.

Hmm...just saw a window of opportunity for Saturday. If so, I'll look for this.

Is there an event next Saturday? My old 97 Type-R is living in the general area now so snagging it might be an option

22nd at Thunderhill. www.ncracing.org/events.php
23rd and 24th at Laguna Seca. www.trackmasters-racing.com

Thunderhill is technical and mostly surrounded by long runoffs. Running hot is an issue. Laguna Seca is a bit more treacherous, but totally awesome. I've never run with Trackmasters. NC Racing is excellent.

I think it's about a three hour drive from Laguna Seca to Sonoma. 1.5 - 2 hours from Thunderhill to Sonoma.

I'd need the Saturday after. The Sonoma race I sorta have to be at is the 23rd/24th

Are you talking about the 23rd or 30th that you are looking for a track day?

I will be at Sonoma Saturday since I need to pick up some tires in the area and also buy a new helmet at Wine Country (store at the track). Most likely I won't go up on Sunday (though I have a bad habit of saying that and then going to such things).
