Did anyone knows how many unit have been sold in the 2.5 years run (US), or for that matter the world?

The reason's pretty simple: there have been no sightings of any mules or cladded prototypes running anywhere in the world other than that one racing prototype sited on the Ring a few months ago. The fact that about 9 months before production would have to start for a summer 2015 release no production testers have been spied at all is very discouraging.

This line of thought was triggered by seeing this today: a prototype of the refreshed 2017 Fusion that has already been spotted.

I'm no expert on testing protocols but my sense from following the major blogs is that pretty much any major re-do gets caught by the spy photogs many months before the car is even announced. Really hope I'm wrong on this!
Why do you care? You've been a member since 2010 with the user name and avatar of the car. I'm thinking you would never buy the car anyways.

MY2015 has new suspension. Notable upgrade. This isn't mentioned much because most people don't care about real performance, but instead want to slam their cars 2" lower to the ground or taillights that look like vaginas.

IMO, the car could use better brakes, stickier rubber w/ appropriate wheels, and more weight reduction before moar powah.

The GT86 CS-R3 rally car supposedly has 240-250hp via cams and higher compression. Maybe this will trickle down. Or maybe not.

And non-emission compliant racing tune or ECU. But it does show what is possible if you want to chuck the warranty and spend the money.

Current model is the refresh. You'll have to wait at least 2 more years for something newer ..

Think away....

Not in any rush, current car only has 60K km, and I am buying for the long haul since I don't commute, so I prefer to get it right rather than jump in prematurely as the ownership period will be 10+ years- there are a few upcoming models I am waiting to test drive to compare.

You might just be the most patient consumer in all of North America, or someone with way too much free time. Only time will tell

Notable upgrades to suspension? Ahh, OK....

I like vaginas.

Even higher compression? It already knocks like crazy on 91, and then there are the special ones using 87...... No way.
