Indeed, just thought it needs to be noted since everyone else apart from you have not seem to recognised it yet.

I have the privilege of having this installed on my car.

In this iteration everything is beefed up almost 100percent. The controller is bigger, the wires are bigger and most of all the electric motor is bigger. This new controller is capable of handling nearly 6000 watts. It is serious stuff. I have all my original mods(aux and 1.5 conversion) installed as well as the new compressor/motor combo and new controller.

In addition to this he has also been playing with a new ramp rate when WOT has been engaged...this ramp up is logarithmic instead if exponential.... It makes a dramatic difference in how quick the 300 spools....something that was a detriment in the last iteration of the 300. Boost response is sharp and immediate....just the way it should be.

In closing here is a boost log of a pull starting at about 4500rpm....the results dramatic.....the tune can hardly keep up and my afrs are rich as all hell but it is still substantially faster....I....LOVE.... IT!!!

- Only made one, but it does finally provide a stable & repeatable 5500 Watts.

Myself, I too have done many FI/NA/track prepped builds.... I don't recall any 'up sizing' hardware being 'exchangeable'?

In this case/development each step didn't exist before. No crystal ball here.

Cheers!

Even if there was an exchange program, I can't see it be taken back for more than the aforementioned 1k to 1.3k, considering how it is 1.6k new.

wouldn't the aux charger still just double the speed of the recharge? I would guess the larger motor/controller would deplete the batteries much quicker, But I think it was said that the 1.0 dump tq250 would last about 2 minutes. So I would think you could still get at the very least 30 seconds before needing a recharge. Or is the extra power management necessary with the larger motor/controller? Basically I wonder if It is absolutely necessary to have the aux charger?

as for the 1.5, I think pretty much everyone has opted for the upgrade, and I have already built my 2.0 setup, so I don't think that will be a factor.

either way it's cool, I am glad to see advancements are still being made. Maybe by next year we will see a version of the Phantom hit the mythical 250hp mark.
There is no difference in responsiveness. It just gives more boost and more power. Yes the batteries will deplete faster, hence the need for the aux charger. The aux charger also helps balance the load. You wouldn't want to use this without the aux charger. Im not sure what the duration use will be with this system....it easily take me from 0 to about 160km/hr in testing and it was still pulling hard....thats about all you can do on the "street" and all this system is recommended for.

My butt dyno tells me this is at least 20 hp stronger on the top end putting it in the 230 range on 93 and 250 range on e85.

My worry is i may be getting close to the limit of the stock clutch....thinking i'm hitting at least 210tq on 94oct....i know my stock tires hate it

Oh Happy Day!
I got my controller back today and it works like new. I was ESC-less for 16 days and it sucked. It took 8 days to get to Rob, he had it for a day and it took 7 days to get back. (Don't ever use FedEx Ground for anything.) Rob said it had a very minor problem and he learned a lot from it.
Took it for a run. Runs great but I got a CEL. Yep forgot to reflash the ESC tune.
Gonna go reflash now and go out and pass cars just because I can.
You all can dream of bigger compressors and more power. I'm happy as Hell with what I have.
I really feel for all you guys on the waiting list.

Yeap, no arguments there so wasn't implying that it has to be exchangeable.

In the case of traditional FI:
SC kits like Sprintex with the 335 and Kraftwerks with C38-81, both allowing 500HP.
Turbo setups going with a larger turbo, eg. 480HP to a 750HP GTX series.
The majority of us would never or even want to build one with such setups of course.

You never truly appreciate something until it's gone lol. I know the feeling I was in the same boat. The day it came back was Christmas all over again.

Will the TQ300 development have any effect on the release of the TQ250s? I'd imagine everyone wanting the old system will want to wait and see numbers for the new system before buying now.

That is 100% fair. Congrats on that hard work coming to fruition! Maybe I'll investigate selling mine in six months to someone who wants the TQ250's cheaper setup. Or maybe I'll be content, because this thing rocks as is!

Also, for you E86 guys, what engine oil are you running on?
Mobil 1 0w-20 advanced fuel economy full synthetic, I emailed mobilproducts, and they said that it was fine for E85.

+1, I find myself in that delima. After what fenton said, when it becomes available, the only reason to buy the 250 over the 300 is price. I don't even know what the aux charger costs (if it's not supposed to be openly advertised, would someone send me a PM?). The price of the 300 might not be worth it, but if I get out of line I might not find that out for over 6 months.

Tossing out a potential solution.

Maybe @Shiv@Openflash would be interested in a buy back program for those upgrading to TQ300s to use for feeding whatever volume of TQ250s hit the secondary market to the Miata crowd. That of course would require some form of Q/C, refurb, or perhaps remanufacturing. Which brings it's own set of challenges. Ahh logistics, fun no?
