Define 'disproportionately.' Is it 10%, 20%? Who sets this standard.

I acknowledge the point you're making - importance can be given to an issue if one side significantly outweighed the other(s), but that still shouldn't imply that the minority be ignored. It may easily lead to the scale tipping the other way instead of balancing out.

Males are subjected to way more violence then females.

There was another thread in which someone said that men were/are 40% of the victims of domestic violence. I'd say that's a pretty big gap and the implication was that it's an even bigger issue than domestic violence against women. That particular study was probably a little skewed due to who was counted as a victim(they included children if I remember correctly) since 75% of the perpetrators were males. So yeah, I'd say that those 25% of perpetrators that are females need to be addressed, but if we're honest with ourselves, it'd be a waste of resources to focus more or equal attention to fix 25% of the problem. Otherwise it just sounds like a bunch of "Men's Rights" bullshit. That was my point.

Funny, I thought we were talking about domestic violence because this is clearly a case of it.

I just looked this up, dug through everything I possibly could. No charges, nothing.

If the genders were reversed, how would you guys see this playing out?

Someone like warmachine that is roided up all the time, and can't get his d!ck up, will always be angry. Rehab won't help anything. If anything it'll piss him off more because he'll be forced to do it.

I would call him a piece of shit, but I don't want to be demeaning to shit.

"a woman should never be treated this way." Since when was that saying solely about domestic violence?

Doesn't matter about double standard or gender war. She was not trained to defend herself not would she have stood a chance against this guy who is trained to beat people. The fact is he degraded her, beat her almost dead, then attempted to rape her. She got away luckily.

It's not a debate for gender equality. No it's not fair that men get beat by other men. But it's definitely not okay for things such as this to happen a woman.

I was always proficient in shooting but I never owned a fire arm until I was treated like this. Never again wil I be made to feel completely helpless.

And honestly debating this whole topic is down right disgusting.

That comment was made in a thread about a woman that got the shit beat out of her by her alleged ex which happens to be a professional MMA fighter; not some thread about random thoughts or how violent we are as a society. Context!

i'd modify that to 'he deserves what he dishes out'. and that goes for anyone regardless of gender. more often than not, people don't get near what they deserve (as far a punishment goes for violent crimes), IMHO. YMMV.
