Is there anyone who plans to install the UEL with a catted front pipe and Q300? I'm curious to hear how that setup sounds compared to similar setups with other UEL headers.

Anything with a catback exhaust and eliminating the primary cat in general will be loud. This isn't a secret.

The cat is quite restrictive.

Maximizing gains and improving reliability also comes with a proper tune. The gains are magnified during long track stints when the power feels sustained because the tune keeps the engine running healthy (obviously all cooling parameters in check too).

I personally love my cat back. Zero drone on the high way, even with the header installed. Only gripe I have with it is that it's unresonated, hence its raspiness. It's fine though, I don't hear the rasp until around 5K, so for a daily driver like myself, it's the rumble that I'm looking for. Plus the rasp isn't like a typical tin can rasp, I like to think of it as more of a straight piped M3 rasp- slightly raspy but in a good and different way.

It's rumble and rasp mixed in so that's why it isn't similar to the typical ricer tin cans, they don't have the rumble but yeah that rasp is a killer for me, just my preference that's all.

I think it sounds great, not forgetting the fact that we are all hearing it through a recording on tinny speakers, not actually being there next to the car. Thanks for taking the time to put the video up.

Sounds like a gas leaf blower or weed wacker. I like the stock exhaust because it doesn't sound like a gardener and still sounds like a car.

So I guess no one is concerned about this? Guess that'll save me some money whenever I get mine.

I'd imagine that the coating would cause too many problems with the slip joints. Dunno about this header in particular but I remember reading about some guy who coated his tomei EJ header and the slip joint cracked because during heat expansion the coating was too thick and cracked the outer portion of the joint.

Ordered my Tomei header from FT-86 SpeedFactory as well. It gets here Monday. I'm really looking forward to testing the OFT stage 2 tune.

I can't believe how long some of the other members have had to wait for this header. (I ordered mine on 8/13 and it gets here 08/18.)

Why such a long wait time if some vendors have them in stock?
