As title says, I'm about to purchase a greddy kit and my question is...

Is it possible to get a base map/small tune with OFT? I was told that you can. I haven't seen anything and searched around. I believe there's stuff for the other turbo kits. I just want to put the kit on and run safe for a little bit than take it and get it dyno'd.

speed by design tune should be pretty compatible the kits are very identical except for the turbo.

If there's ever a big 86 meet somewhere down that way..I'd be happy to take a trip.

Yeah, the SBD kit utilizes a TD05H 20G. It's similar but not the same. I wouldn't trust a tune built for a different kit unless it was just to limp it to another tuner.

Unless you've already purchased the Greddy kit, why not take advantage of the SBD deal and get the OFT for free? I guess it's none of my business.

Get the car tuned by a professional right away if you can. This is the only way you will be absolutely safe.

I know it is not an open source tune, but we do offer an EcuTeK tune for any turbo kit via Speed Density tuning. We have sent our tune our to quite a few Greddy Turbo Kit owners around the world and they are all very happy with the results.

We can also offer FlexFuel, Switchable Maps (through a boost controller) controlled through the Cruise Control and custom Traction Control so when you start sliding from all the power it will help you control the slip.

Hate to bring this thread back to life but is it safe to run the SBD base tune for the greddy kit?! I will be installing the kit tomorrow and have purchased the custom E-tuning for the OFT but still havent even gotten a base tune.

The turbo will build boost differently due different sizing.

you may be able to use the sbd base tune it would be better than stock tune, but you would want to drive very sedately , keep out of boost.
make sure both tune and car are set up for same port injectors , hopefully both are stock injectors

Possibly wedge the waste gate permanently full open to make sure no boost.

Also you would need to be running same MAP (pressure) sensor as the sbd kit or car wont even start

you would only want to be literally transporting car to tuner or home, in a very sedate manner.
