My MR2, if it were running right now, would be quicker than the BRZ but only slightly. The 4AGZE is the way to go; I only went with a 20v 4AGE after blowing two 4AGZE's and being unable to find a replacement on short notice. The MR2 was my daily driver; I ordered up the 20v, had the harness made and did the swap in a weekend. There's a lot of cool stuff you can do, most of which is never done by anyone here in the U.S. Gotta look to New Zealand and Puerto Rico for the crazy 4AG builds. You can take the 1.8L bottom end from a 7A-FE engine and bolt the 4A-GE twin cam head to it to make a 7A-GE (Honda guys think LS-VTEC), swap over GZE pistons for turbo builds, twincharge them, the works!

If I had an unlimited budget I'd basically just have this guy (Barry Manon of Manon Racing Products build me the same engine in his AE92 and make a nice stout 500whp:

I have both cars and yes it is faster.
What do you mean by a stage 1?

With a pulley and haltech on pump, mine is faster than my 86 with headers on E85 tune.
Which pulleys did you go with...my old S/C had a Cusco pulleys, but I am having a hard time finding those again...along with my Cusco Headers...

Aslo, just put it in shop to have the mechanics looks it over...I looked it over and didn't find anything mechanically wrong with it...other than window motors...

Anyway, my normal mechanics called me yesterday and told me it was is great shape...now to move onto the fun stuff...needs a new suspension...wheels/tires and probably brakes

IIRC, NST pulleys yielded higher boost on the stock Roots blower compared to the Cusco pulleys; something along the lines of 14 psi vs 10 psi, respectively.

Also, stock for stock, the supercharged AW11 can at least match a stock twin in terms of acceleration. Still a feat, given the 0.4 liter and 55hp disadvantage of the AW11. Also, it weighed only about ~200 lbs lighter than the twins because of the beefier drivetrain as opposed to the N/A MR2, which was ~400 lighter than the twins--a testament to the benefits of torque.

I can only imagine what an SC14 boosted AW11 with a well sorted suspension and braking system is capable of on the track.

Yeap to all 3 points.

It'll run circles around the twins but I don't like how an SC14 is installed and every SC14 setup I know of run into belt alignment issues.

With that said, I'd definitely jump at the chance to have one again.

If you haven't discovered it yet, www.twosrus.com is your new best friend for MR2 parts.
