When I ordered mine, I put down a refundable deposit. Once the car arrived I was able to do a thorough test drive before I signed the paperwork to buy it.

If you are considering the STI, I agree, wait for the engine to be updated.

I did. And I kept my FR-S.

See, that's why I didn't spend the extra $$ on the BRZ Limited, I just put it toward a WRX, for all those Subaru BRZ snobs out there...a Sport Tech with EVERY option except the overpriced STI under body kit.

Don't recall complaints about the seats, but she had back issues before that car, so if there were complaints, I might have just written it off as previous injury...

That's not a bad deal, I would consider doing that if I was truly serious about it. I would prefer to test drive one on a lot, fall in love with it, and then order one or maybe just buy the one on the lot.

If I bought the WRX, I would trade it in on the STi as soon as it got an updated engine though. I really don't want to buy another placeholder car if I don't have to. I guess as an added bonus, if I have to wait a few years I'd be able to keep my FR-S since I'd have a sizable down payment by then.

I should be seeing at least one 2015 WRX soon, I will try to take a look and see if they have the same pump. I don't recall where I saw it but someone was told it may not even be the pump but the injectors themselves. I don't think anyone really knows why we have the crickets. Hopefully they don't become as famous as the gas tank in a ford pinto.

I've wanted to like it, but it's an ugly car.
Always been a mixture of ugly/boring/boy racer.

wrx/sti sales are up 38% this year alone.

https://autos.yahoo.com/news/subaru-...153031655.html

Subaru has seriously been dropping the ball on WRX/STi sales over the last few years. Pretty much order only, which is ludicrous. People don't want to wait, they want a car immediately. Not everyone has the ability to wait, either. Makes me wonder what the sales increase would REALLY be if they could have sold a car that day instead of having to wait.

That is a cold hard fact. The thing is that Subaru has never expected for their vehicles to be selling to well. First off it was Forester, then Crosstrek, then now WRX. I heard they were reducing WRX production down to increase the production of Forester, and now they can not keep up with the demand.

Isn't that the proof for other manufacturers to see ? Subaru is doing something right. Why does Mitsubishi drop Evo ? Idk what they are thinking either

In short, I'd keep my FRS rather than swapping it. The WRX does have some cool looking headlights and taillights, at least from what I saw on the concept model. The FRS has a much better looking chassis, while the WRX looks like a Corolla on steroids (more aggressive look). In my opinion, 2 doors give off a charismatic and sleek look, whereas 4 doors have a persona of a family, driving safe and slow. When I drive, I want to feel like the British bad guys in those Jaguar F-type commercials.

The EVO should have gone out with a bang, with bringing the fq400 to the US, but no because the guy that runs mitsubishi is a potato.
