I don't care much about how firm the ride is, that wont bother me but if i get a apr splitter I don't want to fuck it up going into my driveway. This is my DD by the way so consider that i also am thinking about lowering springs since those don't drop quiet as much as coilovers

Just let me know your experience with coilovers/lowering springs

thanks for reading
I agree with Jive. At a minimum you should consider RCE Tarmac Zero's or Bilstein B14 PSS if you are looking to spend no greater than $1700 (+tax).

What is the maximum total cost you are willing to spend and how low do you want to go? Do you see yourself wanting to adjust your height a lot or would you rather have it dropped and forget about it without having to tweak anything?

You know that ST is a sister company of KW right?

My ST's have no bounce over bumps

Yes, I do. Tarmac 0's are also made by KW. Both have no adjustability besides height which is their biggest flaw. If you ride them at almost stock height, they're fine. It's when you start dropping them below the 1" mark the ride deteriorates.

well as I said I have mine at -1.5" and the ride quality feels very similar to stock. A little stiffer, less body roll, and no bounce.

And why would they make them have that much height adjustment if the ride quality is only good at the upper end of the range? makes no sense.

maybe you should try the ST's out.

Because all people care about is "moar low" and not the actual ride quality.

Why would I down grade from V3's to ST's? That's absurd.

Another option might be to just leave the stock suspension and put taller sidewall tires on. It sounds like you are going for looks more than performance based on the statement quoted above. A taller sidewall tire will fill the fender gap and raise the car up off the ground to keep you from bottoming out.

And before you tell me that taller sidewall tires aren't good for performance, I'd tell you to look at how large the sidewalls on a Formula 1 car are. Also, I just pulled 2nd place in an autocross on 235/45/17s with my only modifications to stock being crash bolts and alignment.

that is not what I am saying. I am just saying you should try the STs before you knock them; saying that using them at -1.5 will cause issues like bouncing, and an overly stiff ride.

IMO the STs provide GREAT ride quality if you are looking for a coilover that is good to DD and maybe do the odd track day. the roads are pretty rough where I live, and these coilovers are perfect for what I need. (low cost, height adjustable, decent quality, good ride for DD)
