The lead times for the custom parts are also the killer. He does order in large batches and has to do international wire transfers(usually 10 business days) then it is usually a 8 week lead time plus then shipping time and that's if everything goes perfect. Then when he gets the compressors at his shop he has machine them all out to his special spec.

He has told me this probably 3 or 4 times lol. Things in large quantities are the only way to bring something like this to market for such a competitive price.

As he has told me many times before....these are not just a list of parts that you can order off eBay and assemble. Everything is custom and everything is to his spec and bench tested before it goes out.

Trust me I'm not trying to get mad at anyone or anything....just trying to bring some perspective on the kit and the realities of what he has to deal with.

You are alright at putting restless minds at ease. Rob must be glad he has you (and others) to answer the many questions for him on his behalf. More time dedicated to creating those beautiful and wondrous kits he makes

I've been a big fan of robs kit and your R&D trials, hope you could convince rob he could also sell this to me, Living in middle east, although he already replied that no international yet Ive been checking this thread everyday, oh well you made me obsessed with this upgrade. Nice review by the way

I think Rob should solicit investors for his product. I would certainly be interested.
Yes this is a fantastic product and it should go worldwide. Really I think every FR-S/BRZ should come equipped with an ESC. If it was offered at the dealership I don't think too many people would turn it down.
Maybe go public and offer an IPO?

I imagine he is still in 'initial release' mode, post beta but still keeping quantities low until everything is vetted, including documentation. Smart IMHO.

Second this.

I would invest and know many people who would put down some serious cash. I even know a place here in Cali where he could set up a machine shop and have a good pool of hire-es. It was a machine shop used to machine para-scopes for WWII submarines

Where do you work? If it's on the peninsula, Valero has an E85 pump at Whipple and Veterans in Redwood City. I fill up there pretty frequently since I work in RWC.

Understood. I work in Mech. Engineering myself. I didnt understand the scope of the kit's customization. Thanks for clarifying! So I guess the day the kit is stocked on a shelf isn't coming anything soon, if ever.

I like how they are using a simple bypass valve like I suggested about 200 pages ago *pats self on back* although theirs is motor controlled instead of physics operated.

I still wish I could make one myself and try it out. The DR in it's current form still appears to be a slight restriction, for it's complexity. Plus in system overheat (less and less likely), outright system failure, or just running with the system turned off, a simple bypass valve completely removes the restriction.

who are they! im coming for them haha j/k

I went and check out the E85 station nearest me. E85 was 3.299 a gallon. It was a Propels Fuel pump at a 76 station. There 91, which I don't buy, was almost a dollar more. They guarantee that the lowest E content would be 70% then had a sign that said this in not an E76 product? confused. Is Propel Fuels reputable. Doing all my field work and planning now. Seems like a will have some time to do this haha.
