Remove the weather stripping as posted in a picture a few posts ago. Then remove the two small pieces bolted to the corners of the hood. Mine are gone so I can't take a picture of them. If your not ready to cut anything up remove the half moon looking piece behind/above the battery on a LHD car. This will let hot engine bay air into the cowl. It will have to escape either out through the small holes in the cowl (this is where I made big holes) or if you turn you hvac to external air it will suck air out of the engine bay.

They are on the corners of the windshield/rain guards. They pop right off without any tools needed - just be gentle on removing them. Once removed, you can see the hood struts hence an opening to the engine bay.

Removing the weather stripping may also help. So will shimming the lower bolts of the hood/hood struts. Shimming (putting washers) can create a gap similar to removing the weather stripping.

But of course all these recommendations are temporary use only. I wouldn't trust these simple aides as perm to reduce heat. GL!

Went for a hard drive in the mountains and forgot to log. Whenni got home i used my pyrometer. my intake manifold/throttle body?112*f. The roof of my car? 138*f. Engine bay was noticeably cooler than other cars out today and I was making the most power and with a front mount turbo. No oil cooler and factory radiator with ducting and 8 at pan. It was hot out today too. North georgia.

I've always wondered if this were possible.

OR, you could modify your skidplate like I've done.

I also added a rubber strip to trip the air and cause a low pressure area behind the hole, which helps to draw hot air out.

yup. My splitter has this on it in a similar location. My engine bay is colder than my roof on a hot day. I still don't understand how people are having overheating problems.

Removing the weather stripping and plastic pieces did not allow me run cooler on track. And ambient was cooler today.

Time to holesaw. Is your radiator sealed in with foam on the sides? Otherwise the air just moves around it.
