"OFT Dollars", how does it work? - Toyota GR86, 86, FR-S and Subaru BRZ Forum & Owners Community

I just ordered my OFT today and can't wait to get it!...Since I bought directly from OFT, that means I'm rewarded with "OFT Dollars".

Here's the info on their site:

With the purchase of the OpenFlash Tablet you are also rewarded with an equal value ($499) of OFT Dollars. For additional savings, you can apply these OFT Dollars to the purchase of other products for your vehicle. When buying other products, simply click on the purchase link that applies the maximum OFT Dollar discount. Since you can't use all your OFT Dollars credits in one purchase, they will be saved in your customer account for future purchases.

I had thought that if I bought the OFT directly from them, then that made me eligible to buy any other of the products they offer for the twins at the "OFT Dollars" price, forever, no limit (or maybe only allowed 1 discounted item per account).

But reading that info on their site again, it sounds more like I get a 1-time credit of $499 which can then be used towards any items, until the reward credit is used up...But then that means I could buy the OFH for only $36 ($535 OFH, OFT Dollars cost - $499 OFT Dollars credit)???? That doesn't seem right.

Can anyone that knows clarify?

Nope, they have an OFT dollar price, for the header I think it's $525. So SOME OFT dollars will be applied to the header purchase, but not all. The rest will be saved for when you purchase the Crawford BPBs and Perrin exhaust components.

On their site: The OFH is:
* "$645 Regular Retail Price"
* "$535 with OFT Dollars"

So does that mean I could buy the OFH for $535 and used up $110 OFT Dollars (from the diff off retail cost), and then have a remaining balance of $389 OFT Dollars?
