Not too disagree with anyone but if these cars start to arrive in 4wks how can they not know the final specs? What can honestly be left to decide on. The dam car will come just fine out of the factory. Surely it would be min 4wks from production/loading/travel/wait in line up of Oz coast/customs and then delivery to dealers. Cutting it fine arent we TMCA. Im smelling a rat. Does anyone know the time frame (assuming all runs smoothly) from order placement to customer delivery. |

It's got to do with Subaru I'm sure. They don't want to spill the beans early as Subaru launches later.

Subaru must be busy rethinking their marketing strategy and rebranding with this new introduction.
There just doesn't seem to be as much hype or information about the Subaru in Australia. |

2 reasons why i think Subaru has been quiet:
1. they would want to wait until Toyota releases info and they can react accordingly; 2. their marketing budget is smaller and no point wasting fund early on. |

Number 1 i think. Both are being so tight neither wants too leap first. Toyota are waiting for Subaru so they can price match accordingly. Nor sure about Subaru but im beating Toyota are ready to go and are waiting to see what Subaru do with their model. Personally id leap first. Better to be leading a race then playing catch up. Proactive, not reactive. |

Most likely Toyota as it looks like Subaru will release later.

Do you really think that they are just waiting for the each other to make the first move then react?
I mean, afterall this is still a collaboration between both companies so I'm sure they must be communicating with each other especially with regard to price. I just don't think they're out there to step on each others toes per se. |

Well from the point that Toyota owns a part of Subaru, it doesn't make too much sense to be going into all out war.
I think Nardi's 2nd point is more plausible. |

That's what I saw from some articles. Toyota launches in June, Subaru in July/August.
Toyota may owns some shares of FHI but TMCA only cares for themselves and not Subaru Aus. They won't look good if BRZ outsold the 86....(unlikely tho) |

That's a fair call. I'm sure the parent companies are speaking to each other and will set a competitive price for TMCA and Subaru Aus though.
