Drive Away Date
What are the current predictions for first drive away date for both 86 and BRZ?
1 OCT would be my prediction. For some reason we are always late to the party.
Approx 10wks. 18th June
not sure about everywhere else, but for Sydney, I've heard around late July early August,if you have done the paper work in June.:iono:
Given we are look mid-late June for the release date, I'd say first deliveries somewhere around August? July maybe?
The dealer i spoke to says it will be on average 10-12 weeks, which is pretty normal delivery time for most cars.
btw on the launch date, local T dealer said they would have one in the showroom on the 28th of May for looking at but not to drive...
He also said all the specs were on the T website though which is wrong so who knows... |
i was told the dealers are getting demos in May (April production) with cars coming in June for sale (May production). but i think the amount of cars available initially will be low.
Thanks for the all the feedback. My Toyota dealer has provided none. My Subaru dealer has speculated Aug/Sep.
And thanks for the test drive date predictions. That's a critical date I was kicking myself for not asking about initially, too. |
The dealer I spoke to said mid may for the initial delivery. They have sold thir demonstrator already haha
Haha my dealer has probably sold their demo as well.

And to be honest i dont see Toyota selling their quoter either. Perhaps ADVERTISING :eyebulge: will help. |
Seems the only constant is everyone being told something different. If I average out the current speculation I see something like the following emerging:
Test drive expectation: Toyota in May/June; Subaru in June/July Earliest drive away expectation (for pre-orders): Toyota in June/July; Subaru in Aug/Sep. I hope Subaru and Toyota release at similar times to allow those of us who want to walk away with one asap to test drive both and select the spec that suits. And if it (disappointingly) turns out that Subaru release later than Toyota, it suggests they are extremely confident that demand will massively outstrip supply. |
