Is there any scratching on the paint due to the mesh sitting up against the fender or is there still a bit of room between the mesh and the fender?

I want to do this and use an air speed meter, that you can find on amazon for as little as $15:
![]() to see how much venting it does at speed. All It should take is to put it under the hood infront of the fender vent. Start recording it with a camera with time stamp, then drive different test of: 20, 30, 40, 50, etc. mph. and log the time and speed. Then compare it to the video and see how much air if any it flows, and what your underhood temps are. Then it would only take a minute to tape over the vents, and go back out and log a base measurement to compare to, or vice versa.

true, that would tell you if you have flow, if not how much of it.
I would like to make a panel with gills, that way the leading edge of each louver would provide a low pressure zone behind it to help suck out the heat.

I'll get some yarn and a GoPro and figure this out sometime :p. I remember seeing a CFD simulation of the car but someone pointed out that the lines were showing velocity and not pressure areas so it wasn't very useful.

cool thanks.
I figure that even if that area is high pressure, It can't be higher than the pressure in front of the radiator, so even if it isn't drawn out, the heat should get pushed out.
