We can all dream, but even if they never bring out another supra, the ft-86 will be a great platform to have some fun with, and trust me give a couple years and if your not satisfied with the engine/drivetrain, someone will have a 2jz-gte swap kit for this

The JZ would be a very tight fit, that is if it will actually fit without cutting up the car (which I doubt it would). The hood is way to short and low; remember it was designed for a boxer, and while with enough money you can make anything fit anywhere, it would be totally retarded to spend a lot of money to ruin a car (i.e. weight distribution, center of gravity, curbweight, chassis integrity). @ less than 2700lbs (alleged) you don't really need 1000hp to make a super car killer. 500+ hp is an EJ20 or EJ25 turbo setup away, or if you really need to have a 6, I'm sure someone will start toying with high power EJ33 setups, in this more price accessible platform.

yeah, but S2k had the long front space for it, vs FT86 doesn't have much space in the front

jk but with the size of this car even if you got it to 300whp i'm sure it would just be a rocket, 500+whp in this car might be too much lol; mind you it would be cool but scary imo

Naaaaa just like my screen name says, I gotta have power, my goal with my supra it 1000whp so if this ft-86 is my daily then it's gotta be at least 400whp, yeah on a light car that's a lot but if I'm driving to work and the occasional domestic pulls up and wants to be a typical domestic (no offense to anyone here) I wanna beat that @ss

While the point you are saying is true, the photo is horribly mis-scaled. Overall length of S2000 is ~162.75", length of FT86 is ~163.75" - that photo makes it look like a 6" difference or more!

When talking about the 2J swap and size you've got to think about this.
JZ series motors are 6 cylinders 'long' F20 (S2000 motors) are 4 cylinders 'long' EJ (Subaru boxer 4's) are 2 cylinders 'long' EJ engine is also very, very low. Chance of fitting a JZ into a spot made for an EJ is very very slim. If you can come up with internet evidence of JZ swapped Subarus then maybe, just maybe, there would be a very expensive possibility for this car.
