That's why I asked the question. All of my cars tick after shutdown. If this was while running I'd be more concerned (DI seal failure, etc) but after it's shutdown and just sitting there.. nothing is happening besides normal cooling down and contraction.

Mine has done it since day one. I smiled the first time I heard it, because I hadn't had a car that ticked like that since my Triumph.

I lot of people have never heard this. If you've spent your whole life driving regular mainstream vehicles with cast iron exhaust manifolds with relatively short pipes to the collector, you could easily have never heard it. My Jeep didn't make a sound anything like this until I put a header on it, and even then it doesn't click and ping like the weird alien-shaped header on this car. If I hadn't been accustomed to that sound on my old Triumph, I might have been here asking this same question.

BTW, the longer the pipes to the collector, the more likely it is to click and ping. Because this car has the exhaust ports about as far apart as you can get them, it's gonna make a lot of noise.

That probably has more to do with the cars you drive than whether it's a sound the majority of cars make.

Record the sound. Most likely, as has been stated, just the header contracting as it cools.
