LOUD TICK-TICK-TICK sound on right hand side
Hey guys,
My car is driven fairly less. Only 15k on it as of now. Last night I noticed a loud ticking sound on the right hand side of the front of the car after I parked it. It lasted a few minutes until the car cooled down. I know very little of this sort of thing and I'm really worried.... Car is still under warranty right? What should I do...? Any help whatsoever will be appreciated!!! |

Oh good lord. Don't scare him.
The ticking you're hearing is the sound of the header cooling down. Many cars with steel headers do that. Cars with regular cast iron exhaust manifolds don't. A steel header will tick as the metal contracts as it's cooling. I personally like it. I like to think of it as the sound of a sports car catching its breath after a run. |

Seriously, this thread again? Have people never heard a car cool down from the heat expansion on metal parts? NOTHING IS WRONG WITH YOUR CAR.

Are you talking about the normal ticking that a hot exhaust (catback/OP/FP/header) makes as its cooling down? Most cars will do that.
If you're talking about some other sound, then definitely bring it in.
