2-stroke oil is no longer keepin the crickets away. Down to only E0 and the last time l used it, it only made them intermittent.

Toyota tried it. @FR-S Matt had some kind of insulation put on his by Toyota, and I believe he ended up ripping it all out because it didn't work. Hopefully he'll elaborate.

I bought my FR-S USed but with just about 25k on the clock I noticed the crickets the other night.

Something me and my wife laugh about now whenever we pull up next to something that reflects the sound

What are you guys using to dispense the Lucas fluid? It works great for getting rid of the crickets, but the cap keeps coming off and it is difficult to get a consistent amount in per new tank of fuel.

My '14 BRZ Limited also developed those damned crickets, currently at ~6k miles.

I have an appointment with Subaru on Friday for pest control.

Hopefully they don't give me any guff and everything goes smoothly!

My 2014 FR-S has been chirping since the first time I got it to idle at operating temperature. I've never been bothered by it.

I am at 6.5K miles. HPFP was replaced under warranty at about 4K. They were gone for a bit. I could swear I heard the f*cker at a Starbucks drive-through the other day. Then it hid.

When I was trying out Marvel Mystery Oil (which didn't get rid of the crickets) I picked up a bulb syringe thing at Harbor Freight that looks like a heavy duty turkey baster. You can draw in two ounces at a time and put it right down in the filler neck to keep from spilling it all over the place.

Ethonal Free Premium Unleaded

Just a follow up to a previous post...

I have now run multiple tanks of Ethanol Free premium unleaded and at least in my rig... there is a noticeable LACK of cricket noise from the HPFP. I just re-filled with "Up to 10%.." Unleaded after a tank of Eth-Free... and the crickets returned almost immediately.

And.. in my area, the Ethanol Free Prem is going for about $4.50/gal.

Im on my 2nd pump and that's basically how mines going, il hear it maybe twice a week but by the time I make it back to my house its gone. I can deal with that, the first pump was loud and an everyday thing.

2015 BRZ series.blue owner here. Just below 500 miles, I have the crickets.

I used 93 octane gas from a nearby Exon.

I had a 2013 FRS that I put 93 gas in, had crazy loud chirps from day one. Sold thst FRS and got a 2014 brand new, been using 93 ETHANOL FREE gas since the dealer fill up ran out and haven't heard a single cricket after 2500 miles. Not saying the ethanol free part is the key, just stating what I've done.
