Yikes. I went aftermarket with a "STi style" front lip and splats. Total price spent: $150. I'm sure the OEM quality is slightly better but those parts aren't even carbon fiber.

We all have different preferences. Some go after genuine products, others go for replicas.

No, I get it. I'm sure the OEM lip kit looks better up close then mine does.

Correction: knock off. Carbon fiber will crack like a mofo.
How do you know it is slightly better than OEM? Did you compare two in person?

1. Correction: knock off. Thanks Captain Obvious.

3. Carbon fiber will crack like a mofo. Only if you scrape it all the time. Fun fact: so will everything else.

2. "How do you know it is slightly better than OEM?" ... I said OEM would be better. I hope it would be better then my ebay lip, otherwise you're getting ripped off.

correction again. 1 2 and 3.

no.2 I had carbon and PU kit. Only god knows how many times I have scratched with PU kit, and still no cracks.

lol. OEM kit is definitely better, and that does not even come to concern. Knock off parts are copied from OEM which many uncertainties in the dimensions are not taking into account when comes to production.

I've seen knock off STI lip at the local meet, the corners DO NOT fit the front bumper properly it looks like it's about to come off lol! The finish on the real thing is amazingly high quality.

I've seen $900 real ABT Sportline carbon fiber lip / plate that is installed underneath the painted ABT front under spoiler of Golf GTIs and it doesn't crack even after years of crazy abuse (it'll look like crap tho, ABT Sportsline makes like $3000+ body kits and $6000 rims for VW/Audi cars).

Carbon Fiber doesn't necessarily crack easy. I've seen $900 real ABT Sportline carbon fiber lip / plate that is installed underneath the painted ABT front under spoiler of Golf GTIs and it doesn't crack even with crazy abuse (it'll look like crap tho).
This is the answer I've been looking for. I'm getting OEM. Thanks
I hope the price difference justifies it.

Wait, you forgot #1.

#2. Don't drive so bad and your CF kit would have lasted longer.

#3. "and that does not even come to concern." Maybe save the $1,000 for some English lessons.
