It looks like the Fujitsubo unit adds ~3whp and ~2lb/ft while saving ~7lbs and costs (at a direct conversion) $1,635. I'd like to see a bit more of an improvement than that for the money, but the STi unit supposedly doesn't change output at all, so I'm wondering just how efficient the stock system is.
1600 for catbacks?! HOLY F**K

I just want the new HKS Legimax premium exhaust. Someone use their +15 to Internet to find it for sale. My +5 isn't working! I need more internet points!

You won't find many good exhaust systems for less than $1,000 these days. Maybe an axle-back but that will do absolutely nothing for performance. I built my own header-back exhaust out of mild steel for my MR2 and it ended up being about $1,200 for parts, labor, and ceramic coating:

I'm pretty sure the stock diffuser is just a piece of plastic that is clipped or screwed into the bumper. It flaps around in the wind a lot because it's thinner lightweight plastic, I'm pretty sure you could remove the whole diffuser in 2 minutes. Looks pretty flimsy.

I'd be surprised if the bumper skin wasn't molded in one piece. If it's removable I'd think we would've already seen more JDM companies making their own diffuser. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Type One Racing (T1R) exhaust systems will be available for the BRZ/FRS. We will be doing prototypes exhaust in 63mm (2.5") and 70mm (2.75") stainless piping. Available in dual 4-4.5" tip. We will be on it as soon as we receive the car We will be prototyping the cat-back exhaust system and secondary cat-delete pipe to begin with. Header will be later on this year !

Looks nice, but I'd prefer smaller, quad tips that aren't burnt. If you build it, I will buy.

I wonder who will be the first to offer a straight-through exhaust with minimal bends to maximize gains.. I get sick looking at aftermarket exhausts that follow the same convoluted S bend to exit the rear....

I am all about function>form, so I would really appreciate a light-weight, straight through exhaust, preferably exiting only one side of the car... Yes it would look weird but I'll take the weight savings over style any-day.
Something like this:

That doesn't look very good, why so many welds, you can make that with just one bent pipe and it'll be lighter and stronger. The problem with NA engines, especialy 4 pots in small cars, it's they tend to drone. A transversally mounted mufflers helps, and doesn't really affect the power much. I've seen that HKS went for a helmotz resonator on its louder system. We use it sometimes but it's heavy. As the market will be floaded with catback exhausts coming from the same factories in taiwan and china, we'll concentrate in making the best header+cat kit we can.

I want exhaust manufacturers to advertise the weights of their systems. This car is about "added lightness" and I'd like to compare weights.

It's nice to see a bunch of different pictures of exhaust systems, but honestly I care very little about what it looks like, I won't consider anything till I hear a sound clip.
