So are the OFTs ready for 2015 USDM cars yet. I assume the ECU versions or something will be different.

Ok, I have a question:
Why doesn't it come from the factory this way? Mostly looking for commentary on why the stock tune is like it is vs the stg1 OFT tune. I understand the differences are in things like timing fueling etc. I'm looking for a less specific and more executive level rational ups and downs comment between the two.

Wait wait wait... What? E85 tends to make power gains at every RPM. They just might not be as big of a difference @ peak with the BPB so when desk top racing by WHP numbers and ignoring the chart it may seem not as beneficial but I fail to see how this makes sense, do you have a link to the actual post?

you'll still get a benefit, its just you don't even out the top end and get the power the BPB loses up top. I think people are misunderstanding the post a bit... You will still get a gain at basically every RPM on E85. It might just not need its own custom map for it.

Im a too lazy to re-read the whole thread, so I'm not sure if this has been answered yet, but let's say if I wanted to run the 93 but get caught somewhere where I have to use 91, will tune compensate to protect the engine?

Good question wondering the same thing - but my guess would be that - I think the flasher holds up to 5 flash files so if you were planning to go on an extended trip and want to prevent this, you can load up the files for 91 and 93 for your setup so that you can just reflash to the appropriate fuel if worse comes to worse. Would still like a quick and short answer about the effects of running 91 oct on a 93 tune with OFT though. For science. |
