useless weight for me.

I agree, I got them on the BMW 120D Turbo, they only kick in when it gets rained on the sensor, which is a tiny dot on the windshield behind the rear view mirror. any where around it, got to flick the wipers manually or wait for more rain (which is dangerous if you can't see what's in front properly).

But REMBEMER dealers might charge extra on launch
Hi mate, for your information us dealer people aren't allowed to increase any car's recommended retail price (RRP) that will be set by Toyota Australia. We are allowed to reduce it but not raise it though i doubt any dealer will want to budge on the price once it is released as the demand for the cars is too high to justify giving discounts when the vehicles will be hard to get.

There's alot of posts i'm seeing on various websites speculating that it might be better to hold off for 12 months or so to allow production to catch up and hopefully there will be discounts going around, however, we've been told that the 86 will be in limited supply so don't count on a discount (no pun intended) for a while; because we're not the only right hand drive market and in my personal experience most manufacturers supply the UK/Europe before Australia based on volume of sales (and of course N.A. but they're left hand drive).

Personally, as a consumer i'd love to see people getting great discounts on any car but people's desires vs supply & demand go, i just don't know. Much of it i believe will be how the pricing is received as to whether it will make the car that much better or bury it.

Here's hoping it's cheaper than we've predicted.

So lets say its $36k, then ORC would be approx 38K?

and if $36K is low spec manual, then high spec auto would be $40 something grand + ORC = approx $43K. Just taking a shot in the dark and thinking off the top of my head...

Just looking through some new pics and thinking about the price. I think it's a pipe dream to think under $40k for the base.

Check out the interior, the seats alone look like a $3.5k+ option on any number of cars I can think of, including the Recaro's in an STi.

Toyota don't really have anything to compare to so who knows, but the obvious thing when someone walks into a Subaru dealer is WRX or BRZ... I think the BRZ is going to be the upmarket sports coupe, priced at least as much as a WRX, if not more.

Which, at the end of the day, is still a good price for a good quality little coupe - provided it's as good a drive as the reviews are suggesting.

My only caveat would be if they wanted to take a punt on the AUD and introduce a brand new car at a brand new price point to really ramp up sales. They can't do it with existing models as it upsets previous buyers. But why leave money on the table...

Some of the journo's have been saying that the interior feels a little cheap and plasticky, maybe they've cut costs on the interior?
