Any good painter doing a color change will want to do the door openings, engine bay, etc unless the person paying for it doesn't want to pay for that.

IMO if you are doing a color change, do it right and strip the entire car first.

good news is that since the fr-s is the "budget" version of the bunch, the engine bay doesn't come paint-matched with the exterior... a plus for me, but the paint job will still run me about $3000...
