Scion Whiteout VS Satin White Pearl

Do you guys think the Subaru and Scion White will be different in the final production version? Subaru seems to make it clear their white paint color will be a pearl of some sort. With Scion it seems unclear. Does anyone have insight?

Did some digging and hopefully this is accurate

It is accurate. Whiteout=SWP. A long discussion thread about this was posted very recently.

Whiteout is pearly. It will cost a few buck more ($250 maybe according to the Scion folks). It looks awesome.

They don't charge extra for the white on the BRZ, why would they charge for it on the scion FR-S since its the same color?

because subaru spreads their costs throughout the entire line, while scion has tried to offer their lowest cost but still making their required margins.

They're painted in the same place, side by side, why would they use 2 different colors?

Whiteout=SWP

In the UK the only 'free' colour is Red. Black, Silver, Blue, Dark Grey and Orange are classed as Metallics and are £450 extra. White is classed as Pearlescent and carries a £650 premium!

Thats about $1000! :bonk:

I like White, but not THAT much.

yea, different name, same exact color...

totally forgot scion will be charging extra for the whiteout... damn, is this confirmed?

i'm planning on repainting my fr-s soon after i take delivery of it...

either super white [scion] or whitest white [lexus], whichever is closest to #FFFFFF :]

if i'm feeling adventurous, i may go with sizzling crimson mica [scion], but probably not...

Yes, confirmed. I changed my car to white and they gave me the ~$220 disclaimer at scion HQ

At the Toyota museum when they were taking final color/transmission confirmations, I heard additional ~$200-$250 directly from the Scion guy dealing w/ the paperwork, but during dinner on the final night w/ some of the other First 86 guys, I was then hearing a ~$300 figure. Don't know where that new figure came from, but maybe one of them will peek in here and explain.

That sounds like a nice $$ setback and curious to see the outcome. Can you post up the whole process. :happy0180:
