In the USA you can always cancel the extended at any time and get a prorated refund, so if you can swing it and you feel you may need it, at least the risk would be low. (if you can get a refund on it)

However, if the sizes are as large as you state, I'm not sure an oil analysis will do much. They read parts in PPM, large parts are brushed aside for this testing. Post up some photos, that may be able to help us narrow down where the metal came from.
Yep, the limit on a Blackstone spectral exam is a particle size of about 5 microns. A uoa might pick up something, but people have had excellent uoa's with a piston sticking out the side of their engine. It's hit or miss.

You could at least thread the few posts in this thread, there is 32,000km on this motor. (#12)

You said you are at 32,000km. the manufacturers comprehensive warranty is good until 60,000 or three years, which ever comes first.

Good call. Nothing like warranty.

As info:

My first oil change was at 2000 miles. I cut the filter apart and found no metal particles, etc.

If the things that are in the oil pan are metal you could forget about the oil analysis!
That engine could be save (if continue running without additional noises and turning) but it have to be open for inspection.

I know this is an old thread, but do you have any updates. Was the engine good, did you have to rebuild it? Etc
