No. China will not.

The Japanese didn't in the 80s.

The Arabs didn't crush you with oil dependence in the 70s.

The Russians didn't win the space race in the 60s.

Unless these 'uneducated' and 'naive' statements are sophisticated dual prong propaganda to lull the world into a false sense of security on one hand and motivate the American populace to respond with action to whatever the threat of the decade happens to be.

Seems actually likely given the history of the last hundred years...

Yup... The same themes still kind of apply and it's been pretty universal since the 80s. I would add the ease in which you can buy politicians, the corporate control of the us media, and the folly of allowing political parties to redraw their own district lines in that group. I could go on but those topics from newsroom are the main talking points... Which is why they were used in the show.

If anyone wants to start a thread about what we do well I can post a bunch in there too.

Silicon Valley is amazing btw.
Sure, it was just a funny film based on stupidity.

At the rate the stupid are reproducing, it is a losing battle.

That's one way to interpret it.

It seems constant from Beavis and Butt-Head to Office Space to King of the Hill to Silicon Valley: Mike Judge's satire is aimed not at the absurdity on center stage (mtv consumers, corporate offices, rednecks, 2nd dotcom bubble respectively, note I've limited this to what I've actually watched) but rather the audience who chooses to complacently allow these constructs to run amok and even feed into the cultures.

And maybe I'm wrong and Mike Judge just thinks these cultures are silly and he has no higher message, I'm fine with that.

I tried to make some inspiring conclusion about eschewing the place I live, but I'll just end on this:

Depends on the league and team. Set price per team, but varies by league and for most of the leagues someone on the team will pay the rink and then split costs so more players on a team = less cost.

For me, one of my leagues is ~260, the other is 225. 12 games plus playoffs (assuming you make it to playoffs) which is 2 more games max.

Ice in florida greatly depends on the rink. I play on the lightning practice rink so it's not terrible. Another local rink is really terrible. The other two are pretty good but I prefer the ice at the rink I play at. It's also 5 minutes from the house and I'm lazy so that helps too..
