It's not really more power but rather smoother delivery.

It actually runs a degree more of timing if you run the 93 map.

So maybe a bit of power. It is much stronger on the bottom in my opinion.

Hey all, so a little while back I was looking for someone local who might be interested in tuning for the Phantom and ran across Bill @ DeliciousTuning. Based on his history of tuning I figured I'd give it a shot. He had my car over the last couple of days and used it to create a 91, e30, e60, and e80 tune on Infamous' mustang dyno.

First off, the 91 tune between Delicious and Shiv were pretty darn close. A little shifted and a couple more ponies squeezed out by Bill but props were given to Shiv. Next he loaded 3/4 tank of e85 I brought from the local station to 1/4 tank of 91. This is ~e60.

I'm pretty happy with the results. He used speed density tuning and the car feels pretty strong. I did some 0-60 pulls just now using DashCmd on my phone. I know it's not super accurate but I could only hit 6.5 on my automatic with 91 and I now was able to hit three 5.9 pulls in a row. My tires started slipping in first gear both down low (2.5k) and up top (~7k).

We didn't get a chance to pull a non-ESC base tune for my car but a previous NA 91 FRS tune on this dyno made 138hp. It's a mustang dyno so it's estimated to show 15-20% less than a dynojet (Bill uses 17% for comparisons).

My car pulled the following:
OFT 91 - 166 hp/178 tq
Delicious 91 - 171 hp/176 tq
Delicious e60 - 188 hp/191 tq

Adjusted based on 17% that makes it ~ 220hp and 224tq. I'm also an auto so ~10hp lower than manual.

Overall I'm happy with my tune and also super happy with the ESC 1.5 with Aux. I hit 4.94 lbs of boost from 2800 - 3000 with a solid 2 lbs at 7000.

Stock 91 FRS Dyno on Infamous Dyno (not my car)

My runs on Infamous Dyno (OFT 91, Delicious 91, Delicious e60)

Shiv makes some great tunes but its also nice to have a local tuner in on the action. The more the merrier! His Flash and Go tune will now support the ESC.

Thanks for all the data. I was most interested in the difference between CA91 and e85 tunes. The gains are really nice there. I wouldn't put any credence at all in comparing a made for public consumption OTS or e-tune with a custom dyno tune for max power. All in all this just continues to add to the mountain of evidence that the Phantom ESC is the best performance bang for the buck mod for this platform. Rob absolutely killed it with this product and we are the fortunate few that got in early. Great stuff @nlowell.

I would get the Phantom and run it for a couple weeks. If it doesn't give you enough power, then get the supercharger. But don't sell the Phantom. Use them both.
Be the first one on your block to have a SUPER-DUPER Charged FR-S.
It would probably be a bitch to rig up. But it would be insane.

Anyone else notice the system having sporadic power differences? What I mean is one day it will pull great and push you back in your seat, and other days it will make noise like you're going somewhere but feel significantly slower with no "pull" feeling at all. I thought maybe it was just differences in temperature and or humidity but starting to wonder if something might be loose of have a bad connection???

I have never had this issue. Check your connections.

I was having issues like that after installing the new 1.5dump tune, But as a forum member(too lazy to backtrack for the name) suggested, with the ignition off, pump the gas 10~20times, turn it key once "make sure you DON'T turn it to far or the fuel pump will come on" just one click so you'll see the clock turn on. Its accessories i believes. Then pump the gas 10~20 times. Then again to off and pump 10~20 times again, i was told that it somehow bypass the TP learning time.

Hope that'll help, it sure solved my problem

Need something empirical.

- Log
- 0-15 psi boost gauge (mechanical/ cheap/VDO makes one) tee into DR line.
- LED voltmeter #'s are related to boost event. (ie 17 Volts?, normal range?).

Not enough info.

I would be cautious about embellishing something that is not true. The tune we offer is not a "custom dyno tune for max power", as you have stated. This tune was designed as a one of our Flash and GO maps and another option when searching for alternative solutions in the market. The customer was kind enough to allow use to spend the week with the car to make sure we dial it in for, as you put it, public consumption. As with any EcuTeK tune they have the ability of running FlexFuel (which this tune is now capable of), being able to switch between maps on the fly and many other EcuTeK RaceROM features.

Cheers,
William Knose
